I think the point being made was that european racecars have a lot more carbon in them than these climbing frame wannabe prototypes

wannabe prtotypes ??? Let see . . . Chassises: Riley Crawford Doran --> Delora Lola Fabcar Chase ( new Lola ??) Engines: Pontiac ( Katech & CRD & other builders) Ford ( Roush Yates ) Porsche V8s ( ?? Builder) BMW ( Dinnen ) Lexus ( TRD ) 6 chassis, 5 different engine branding with 8+ engine builders. Think they are past the wanna be stage. Would be great if these builders cars could be AC0 / FIA P2 chassis too. NOW that would be a way to keep costs down for small teams racing in the ALMS, LM, and FIA races, use these chassises and engine builders. Last edited by AU N EGL; 27 Jan 2008 at 17:47. |

A Mazda winning the GT class ?!? It doesn't look remotely like any RX-8 that I have seen.
Re Eurosport, why so many ad breaks, or, if they must have them, why not take them when there is a caution period. |

They are taking adverts when Speed take them.
They should do what NASN does for NASCAR and just stay with the pictures whilst the US commentary team is on a commercial break. |

Cars are still tube framed and the engine isn't a stress member for pete's sakes. Their laptimes are close to a star mazda. Yah there are a couple of good chassis makers making these cars, but that still doesn't mean these cars are considered top flight sportscars as far as technological advances are concerned. Go compare the lap times around Miller or Laguna between a P2 vs a DP |

I must admit, my enjoyment of some good racing in this series is completely destroyed by the tube frames and suchlike. I often wonder why I watch it.

Honestly, I can really care less about the technological level of the cars. If it puts on good racing, that's all that matters.

With GrandAm DP having so tight technical rules I am suprised the class is almost a Riley single make series.

You're right, staying with the picture would be much better, even if we had to suffer Kirby and Cole. |

Mid Ohio is a good place to compare too. The new Pirelli tires are 2-3 secs a lap faster then the old Hoosier Grand am tires. Should be closer to P2 times this year. and yes it is Dallara. IIRC also makes the Audi R8 and R10s under contract with Audi |

JPM does it again, with Pruett the anchorman, Dario and Memo. Great team. JPM's gotta have some pops at La Sarthe now surely. Can Ganassi enter an LMP next year please!! |

Yeah, kind of put the lie to those who said he'd be useless at endurance racing.
Sadly NASCAR clashes with Le Mans so no chance of that for a while. Maybe one day. I believe that is four endurance races entered and four class wins now. |
