Graham, could you fit an M5 diff in there without too much modification?

the e30 m3/325 diff is basically a 5 series one and normally bullet roof, if i'm going to break anything in the transmission it will probably be drive shafts

Entry in for Brands. I'm pretty sure we're in the "to be lapped" group as the BX weighs in a couple of kilos less than GB's Beemer and has a paltry 180 bhp.

I think its only a 5 and an 8 lapper (I think) on the GP circuit so we should be able to stay unlapped Carrera, I look forward to seeing you there.

I'll be with you Al! Try not to lap me. I'll be following Graham trying to put some broken horsey power onto the tarmac, or navigating through the side windows!

It's OK Dave, I've ordered a 208L drum of valvoslick 20/50 and by my calculations, I should last at least 10 laps.

The issue will be finding a piece of tarmac that's not covered in oil after three....

really looking forward to seeing the car in action (I managed to miss it's Silverstone outing despite being at the meeting - I saw it's return though). Powerslides on the exit of Druids would be appreciated (just copy Mr Thurston).

Just working out how to make the tank (9.5" diameter) fit, when it comes with no fixings.

I did think about some self tappers through the floor into the bottom of the tank!! ;-)

And powerslides along the straights will be possible if my experience at Silverstone last week is anything to go by!

Rob.

Rob how the Moon eyes tank is fitted is they fabricated a flat plate, square at the back and semicircular concave at the front with 4 holes drilled that match to the ring of bolts that allow you to split the tank, the plate was then welded to the cage and the tank bolted through the holes using the longer versions of the bolts that split the tank (if you get my drift. At the lower part of the tank is a simple 1 inch steel strap going around the tank and fixed to the roll cage, the ends are turned at right angles and drilled to accept a nut and bolt which is tightened to lock the strap to the tank, a bit like a giant jubilee clip.

Is that 200mph Duct tape?

The "you know which" website has just been updated with the provisional timetable and un-confirmed entries for Brands.

Those Carlos Fandango wheels should spread the weight nicely....

Yep, Barry popped round the other night. Full of enthusiasm and keen to get back "on track". He is now 4 stones lighter, reckons it could be worth nearly a second a lap!!
