Isn't it obvious? So it can be shortened somehow.

After having read the Information for Officials booklet again, I just want to be clear on this, I'm bringing my Fiancée with me as my guest and want to clarify what access this gives her, will she only be allowed on the campsite or can she access the spectator areas too ?

Hope someone can help !

She can access the campsite anytime and also has standard spectator access to the circuit.

Guests

Just read this on facebook

Guests

If your guest is intending to stay with you on the campsite they must be accommodated within your designated plot.

This year no one will be admitted to the marshals campsite without either an official's wristband, an official’s guest wristband for that day, or a campsite wristband.

If you have guests staying with you who have purchased tickets from Silverstone directly you will need to request a campsite wristband from IMS by Thursday 20th June. These will be despatched on Friday 21st June. Please call IMS on +44 (0)1753 765100.

If you arrive at the campsite with a guest who does not have a guest wristband or a campsite wristband they will not be allowed access into the campsite. If your guest arrives separately to you without a guest wristband or a campsite wristband they will not be allowed access into the campsite.

Please note that campsite wristbands DO NOT grant access to the circuit.

These measures are in place for the safety and security of all marshals and their belongings.

Passes

All passes will be despatched by Monday 17th June, by Royal Mail 2nd class delivery.
If these have not arrived with you by the last post you receive before you are due to leave for Silverstone, please call IMS on +44 (0)1753 765100.

We look forward to seeing you at Silverstone and wish you an enjoyable meeting.

On the subject of the privations of the GP, the early starts, lack of races etc, well, try rally GB, way more expensive in travelling, No campsite no toilets and showers, no fiver a day sign on 4 hours befor 1st car, and you spend most of the day/night/weesmallhours being a spectator Marshal.

Still enjoy it

I have my wife coming as my guest but we're also bringing our 9 year old son who we have bought a weekend circuit ticket for from silverstone.

Does anyone know if he'll have a problem accessing the campsite? He's going to be with the wife the whole time.

Is this security measure mainly aimed at marshals mates etc rather than their children?

He's hardly going to be terrorising the camp with his Ben10 jammys on!

The details from IMS say everyone will need a campsite pass, it'll just be a wristband, then he'll feel like he's part of it as he'll have one too. Ring IMS and they'll be able to sort it out for you.

What does your guest do about parking if they arrive on Sunday separately from you.
On Silverstone web site it looks like you only get a parking spot if you buy a ticket:-

"Circuit Parking Prices:
Three Day £60
Sunday, Race Day £45
Saturday Qualifying £20
Friday Practice £12.50
Car park passes are available subject to availability. You may purchase as many parking passes as you have tickets eg if you order 4 tickets you may order 4 parking passes."

There seems to be no mention in the instructions unless I missed it

Thanks

I can confirm that i have seen Mr Briggs indeed wearing a towelling dressing gown whilst collecting his radio. I will not however comment on the colour! Lets say that it is not orange!

Its a nice light brown, or creamy-browny colour, not beige at all.

If you are bringing an additional car onto the marshals campsite (which is what you'll need to do) you will need a second pass for it. Ring IMS but in the past these passes have been limited.
