Just got back to my daytona beach front hotel room from the race track. The race itself is fine. Just great to see all of the cars. Not much to say about it since the safety cars keeps bringing them back together. The story is more of who got into a crash or mechanical problem.

1. The support staff at the speedway is awesome today!
2. The atmosphere is great. Love the partying that went on.
3. GTD Pro race is the best watch for sure right now. 9 cars still in the hunt as I type this, including both Corvettes and Mustangs. GTD Ams are all 1 lap down to the pro field, so they won't have a mixed race like last year.
4. The Cadillac hypercars are awesome seeing them in person!

I am curious about cricket from a quote I read years ago that said cricket was invented to be the more boring than baseball on radio. I can listen to Nascar or FOOTBALL on radio but not baseball (don't watch much).

That's a surprising quote as the quality of commentators for Cricket on the radio is second to none.

It can be a game that goes along slowly at times especially the 5 day Test matches. But that's when radio commentary is perfect as it's very listenable due to the quality of commentary and the pace of the game allowing the commentators to properly discuss the game rather than just saying what they're seeing as is the case in most sports.

There's actually an intriguing 5 day Test match taking place right now between India and England now in India. India have only lost 3 matches in the last 46 at home and it looks like England could win despite India looking on control of the match for the first two and a half days. That is the beauty of Test Cricket. It's probably the most similar sport to endurance racing in that the lengthy time the event takes allows the event to ebb and flow. And epic comebacks and the like to take place.

Once it's finished (in about 30 minutes at most) hopefully it'll be light in Daytona and I can start watching again.

Great day of sport with the Newport County Vs Man United game in the FA Cup as well. Hoping the Welsh team can get an upset result there.

And the equally-memorable test between the West Indies and Australia - the Windies' first victory in Australia for nearly three decades. Also, Maidstone's giant-killing of Ipswich in the FA Cup. As I type, Sinner is fighting to take the favourite Medvedev to the deciding set in the Australian Open (tennis) final. It really has been a great weekend for sport, especially for the underdogs; hopefully Daytona caps it off.

Edit - Apart from Newport, who will obviously lose to the team I support!
