At the end of 1959 he was hit by another car in the final race. He came in to get the damage checked. As it turned out he'd have probably won the championship if he'd just pressed on...

Does that Camaro look like a truck or what? It certainly doesn't look slick like the Porsches.

Do they DPs use a hand clutch? Saw what looked like paddles on the back of the 95's wheel in the on-board shots just now.

Oddly there seems little chance of a yellow. Even with one it looks unlikely due to the pitstop. |

Either the release for the wheel (unlikely, that looks like it is further down the sterring column), or it is just the paddels when it is in a different configuration?????? |

the 75 will surely find the tire wall... question is, will it be before the checkers? or on the cool down lap? |

Crap Porsche road cars, but the basis of a good engine!
Hurrah! |

Tracy Krohn usually isn't that bad; doesn't he have a GT2 podium at LM or something? Also, at Sebring in 2008, when one of the Risi/Krohn cars binned it into a couple other cars, it was one of the hot shoes that screwed up.
I think that makes two major endurance wins overall now for a Porsche V8; the first was the #7 Penske RS Spyder at Sebring in 2008. |

Porsche Cayenne wins Daytona 24hrs
Love that Mazda, sounds wonderful. Hope to see the black/blue lizards livery again too, that thing looks wicked. I'm sure JPM will win it someday too... |

Missed the very end as had a simrace to do, but I left with 5 mins to go knowing the 9 would win. Have to say I'm really pleased overall. I thought the racing was great, great to see enduro's with rain mixed in but not flood out the whole race, was great to watch as much as I could. As for the winner I'm really pleased as well as Joao is a great driver, have liked him since he drove for Rollcentre back a few years plus I'm a big fan of Ryan Dalziel and so I'm really pleased to see him get a Rolex. The rest of the lineup was pure class anyway so overall great stuff. Tough luck for AJ and Michael Shank again...
For GT, well, the Camaro's looked kool, wished Dempsey could have gotten a top 5 but finishing is very respectable as well, in sixth too! Will do my best to find streams for the season. |

Is it just me or do speed channel links always contain "watch-nascar" somewhere in them? Sickening if so. More importantly, how 'bout Rocky?! Very glad for him.

Just got back from a 10 hour dinner party to catch the results...well done to the 'Brumos' boys in 9, Borcheller seemed to mail it in but Rocky and Barbosa were huge. What a set of stints at the end with a car which clearly wasn't happy - to lap the pace that they did without the clutch and with a sticking throttle body truly and deservedly won the race. Ganassi should not, in retrospect, have pulled 01 in. That being said, they were right to trust Wilson's call, and I really am bothered by any slating of him. He said that, as the person in the cockpit, things went a little squirrely, and the crew could have chosen to let that ride out. They took the conservative choice, and at the end of the year 01 will probably beat 9 in the championship.
Great drive by the gents in 70 - so close to the fastest despite (other than Bomarito) being well older than the Porsche factory boys, and they definitely had it at the end like in 2008 by being steady and quick. I thought the bear would come to rue ignoring them in his predictions, and I'm pretty chuffed to have been right on that count. Be condescending and pretentious about some 'gentlemen' at your own peril. |
