Alan Green should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Re: FIA Lights

I've done the lights at Brooklands for the last two years - the first year (bridge circuit), the lights and control box were in the back corner of the gravel trap / run off in front of the BRDC suite. Last year (on the new layout), the light panels were between the vehicle bridge and the flag point / turn-in for Brooklands. Trouble was that the control box was at the flag point (ie after the light panel), so you could only see the back of the panel and couldn't see what it was displaying (so you relied on the 'tell-tale' lights on the box to be accurately showing what the light panel showed). There wasn't enough cable (or anywhere to stand) to get on the 'face' side of the panel.

But it was fine, not a lot to do as Brooklands was a pretty 'nothing' of a corner on the new layout (not enough braking or turning for a dive up the inside), but if it's a DRS zone (seems logical) then it could be more 'spicy'.

It is the DRS zone, with the old pit straight being considered as a second one!

Will certainly make it interesting if they do! I think there could be 3 or 4 zones at silverstone...Woodcote pit straight, hanger, Abbey pit straight and wellington. Being at Copse I have to say I hope they do decide to have a second one!

Hopefully not although you never can tell this far in advance as the Met Office and BBC are saying Light Showers Friday and Sunday with Sunny spells on Saturday.

Apple's iPhone weather app (which I find to be pretty accurate) is Rain Friday with Sunny spells on Saturday and Sunday.

And the Weather Channel is Showing 60% chance of Rain on Friday, 20% chance of Rain on Saturday and 10% chance of Rain on Sunday!!!

So I guess if we pack for anything from Arctic to Desert conditions with the possibility of a monsoon thrown in we might just have the right kit!

Well it is nearly time. I must start thinking about packing at some stage!

Does anyone know if the curry doofar is going to be set up again in that old pub car park? If so are they still doing a discount for marshals?

Has anyone had any confirmation on pitch sizes for this year? Is it looking better than last year?

They'll be a lot smaller by Sunday, when we've all floated to the bottom of the hill!

Plot sizes are much bigger this year. Pitched up today and could get tent and car in one plot (just).
They've got rid of the Spectator marshals and dumpt them in another field somewhere apparently. Leaving them more room for us track marshals etc. (The important ones hehehe only joking )

that has another knock on effect too - less traffic in both the toilets and showers. good for all concerned i hope, apparently more people are needed this year so i guess they ran out of room for us all in one field. should be leaving in about an hour, looking forward to it

DRS zone has been confirmed as ONE only - Wellington Straight with activation at Village.

Not sure who might be reading this on Friday evening - but whoever you are, I hope you have dried out.

Although I am jealous that I'm not there (didn't volunteer), it may not come as a surprise to discover that I'm actually very glad I was watching today on red button!

Well done for clearing Kobyashi's car so quickly. Just wish you guys/gals had had more out in the second session.
