As I said- legally it can get a bit complicated. But any legal record relating to the business of IP Tech and Goodyear/Dunlop should not affect the employment of Mr A.Neate as a driver by another business. |

If these people are paid professionals why do they have jobs outside of racing? |

Quite so. Point was Courtney is a career professional racing driver.
He’s not going to come for a free loan car and complimentary cans of pop like some on the later list. |

just because they also have other jobs or income doesn’t mean they are not paid drivers. since when is a paid professional driver (or any professional sportsman) not allowed to call themselves a professional if they also have another job or income? tell me what job turkington has outside his racing? |

A company called Greenlight is responsible for selling it overseas - it's on CBS Sports in the US, Fox Sports in Australia, ESPN in Central and South America... |

Every driver on the BTCC grid could classify themselves as a professional racing driver. A minority of them earn a decent wage out of it and last season there was only one driver on the grid actually employed as a professional racing driver and this year there will be two.

Saw a post a few pages back about the dreaded "corona virus" government announcing this morning they may ban large gatherings of people at sporting events which would basically write this season off and could put a lot of sports series in the position to cancel their events for the year to stop them losing too much money.

They won’t cancel sporting events they will just make stop spectators attending them, like rs67 said you don’t need fans at the event for it to go ahead because it is televised, I’m sure it would be a bit weird if that was to happen, but I don’t think it will even get that far

Is it just me that feels this whole coronavirus thing is just pish? Remember mad cow, swine flu, bird flu, other stuff that I’ve forgotten they were all the same and what really came of them?
Anyone that has died so far are all older or have had underlying health conditions too |

[QUOTE=RS67;3960801]They are only making plans. There are only 35 cases in the UK at present and only 3 of those cases are people infected in the UK as opposed to people coming into the UK infected. They are only putting serious consideration into banning internal events of over 5k people like France. As the BTCC is televised there would be no reason to cancel it, they just wouldn't be able to have any track side spectators[/QUOTE
Is that right?! 26/30,000 paying guests,, how do the circuits make up that shortfall? It’s about as daft as magicking up third entries. Motorsport costs money.... |
