Good news on Paul Dana and Hemelgarn! I had read that Paul tested an Indycar for this team about a month ago, but it seemed like such a long shot, I don't even think I mentioned it!
 That was an uplifting article KB. I'm glad you came across it. This off-season has been filled with negativity, and I must say I've been abit down about something's like, the manufacturer problems, small grid, lack of sponsorship and so on, so it was good to hear that the season is coming together. To bad there was no news on Greg Ray though. I can't wait to get this season going already!

Was Paul Dana the one that threw a bit of his headrest out to get a yellow flag? Is he is....well....great! I like his style

The head-rest incident was one of the Chesson brothers.
Down FOrce - Hemelgarn's team history has been woven around competing in the Indy 500. Yes, he could have had a CC chassis for $1 - but running it would have cost money! |

I guess Ron's loyalties are to the IRL, or at least those of his sponsors are. Thsi deal does almost have 'Ben Collins Mk2' written all over it right now though.

Autosport.com reports that Mo Nunn has called it quits and sold his chassis to Ron Hemelgarn. Apologies if this is old news, but I hadn't seen anything definite.

A shame to see Mo gone, but he was always fighting the tide in terms of trying to get support and funding, even when he was in ChampCars. Ever since the Zanardi crash things've tended to go wrong for him.

It sounds like he could still do the Indy 500 though. He still has a couple of G-Force chassis he's kept. He said the doing the 500 would be a good way to go out.
The Speed article said that it was thought that TG had bought Tom Kelleys equipment so Ed Carpenter would have a ride for 05. It's being held-up on some legal problems though. Is that the Playa Del Racing deal, or something different? |

Speed is reporting that Helmegarn Racing will be fielding the #91 Dallara with a Toyota engine this season, and it will be sponsored by Ethanol. Paul Dana, who came in second in the IPS series last season, will be the driver.
Looks like you can add another team and driver to your grid thread marcus! Good to see that deal done! |

Great to see Ron is coming back! I think he's one of the more passionate team owners, and one most everyone has alot of good things to say!
