You could be on to something there.

So does Sabine Shmitz count then? Winner of VLN races and Championship, and Nurburgring 24Hr?

No you can't!

The fact that anyone has their behind in a race car means they must have some level of skill and talent...otherwise they would be in the fence every time they went around

As for the killer instinct...will to win might be better because the other implies win at all costs...and there have been enough of those throughout the years to last a lifetime.

National Champion 2014 NHRA ProStock Championship

Erica Enders-Stevens

She currently holds both sides of the NHRA National Record for Pro Stock, 6.464 seconds and 215.55 mph (346.89 km/h), set at Englishtown, NJ in 2014. [3]
In 2014, Enders-Stevens became the first woman to win the NHRA Pro Stock championship, winning six races for the year, including the season-ending Auto Club NHRA Finals to clinch the title.

Good enough? Well Done!

Heart warming to see, Go Girls!

Enders-Stevens led a major charge this season by female racers in NHRA that resulted in 14 victories by four drivers. She was joined in the winner’s circle during the year by Courtney Force and Alexis DeJoria in Funny Car and Angie Smith in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Brittany Force raced to four runner-up finishes and three No.1 qualifying positions in Top Fuel.

Well done to Erica.

However Dasher was clear in his first post that he was talking about Circuit racing and even mentioned a drag racer in his first post who had achieved.

So alas its not good enough

Sorry Axeman, no it dosent count although a great achievement by Sabine because she dosent do it on her own.

There have been many females win the odd race or two but not a championship and whilst winning at Nurburgring is fantastic it is not a single seat championship?

Please read the criteria and Drag Racing also dosent count?

Merry Xmas

Hi Everybody,
I'm back with the news that its that time of year again and no female driver has won a Major, single seat, Circuit racing Championship.
This thread has been going for a few years now and no female has even come close, will it ever happen?

Christina Nielsen was second, by herself on points, in the GTD class of the US Sportscar championship, two points behind the winning pair.

Dosent sound like any Major Championship, not outright of just a divisional series and anyway she only ran second which isn't a win?

It's a class of the top U.S. sportscar championship which is internationally renowned. Even if someone came second in any class of the championship I'd be impressed, there's some very strong drivers in that class.

Single seater now? You've tightened up your own arbitrary restrictions even further. Are you now worried a woman might win a Touring Car or Sports Car championship?
