Yes, I'm sure that has happened quite a few times to various competitors. It's always better to check that the spare parts are of the same quality as the main parts

I wondered if the team had done the calculations with the leaders lap times to figure out they could make the end on fuel if the leader passed them before the end.



In other news.... P2 team Era motorsports now has a partnership with former Bentley GT3 runners M Sport to run their IMSA program. Hope to expand to 2 cars and possibly LMP3 and GTD.

Significant hint to why some of the teams and their pay-drivers prefer to run P2 in IMSA over ELMS/WEC:

As the active driver, it seems Nunez wasn't let go but rather back to reserve role. Guessing Pipo talked him up as they're in the Glickenhaus together. Wonder if our man on the ground locally heard the test day at Road Atlanta last week

Interesting IMSA pole was only 3.5 seconds of the Indy pole time. Guess the Caddy torque helps on the tight circuit

Maybe it being a tight street circuit helps, although it is still impressive. Maybe the torque helps a little bit, but I wouldn’t have thought it would have helped that much?

Months ago before sebring 12 hours, ricky taylor revealed acura/cadillac differences during an interview... according to him, acura has more downforce but is more rude on tyres forcing acura drivers to manage tyres with more caution... if I recall well he basically said that arx-05 drivers need to choose if go faster soon and manage later or manage at the beginning of stint to push harder by the end. Cadillac has less downforce but is way stiffer than acura, making it a better balanced car that doesn't stress tyres as much as acura. Because of this, tracks with slow corners like sebring, detroit and long beach are cadillac kingdom.
About torque, I think that cadillac lost its torque edge when they shifted to the smaller 5.5L, considering similiar rpm redline of 7000-7500rpm, I think acura and cadillac have a more or less similiar torque curve.

Bamber doesn't mind contact at all does he? Pipo is often offline sticking his nose in but Earl, learn who's next to you. He's not gonna yield there and you had the bad line, drop in and follow his line through everyone else

Think that pass cost him getting to the front but NBC doesn't think we need to know about it. Instead replays not of that and 37 ads in the last 15 min. Unless the 01 or 60 need fuel it's going to finish as they are on track it seems

And coverage sucks so no he has caught up and the 01 needs the fuel number so 12 min left could be interesting

I’ve been surprised a couple of times he hasn’t had a lunge. Also he is pretty cautious in traffic, not following through immediately if there is any risk.
