Last year i picked up camping tickets for less than the face value very late on. It is all about market forces and buyer beware and afterall, you do not have to bid if you think the price is too high! On another note i have recently (within last two weeks) booked my camping (Blue North) and grandstand tickets direct from ACO. Recd confirmation yesterday. Just email them to find out what they have left, i got a very quick reply. |

I read today that the Audi R10 will be making less gear changes than the R8 due to its extra (diesel) torque. I know the R10 has more torque, but less gearchanges??? Is this right?

The R10 has a 5 speed gear box instead of 6 speed (R8). The gear box is even lighter because it has aluminium casing (instead of magnesium casing).

The R10 gearbox uses a thin-wall aluminum casting technique. That's apparently what makes the car noisy and somewhat unpleasent at idle. I don't know if any current F1 car uses it now because there already is carbon fiber and titanium for gearboxes, but it was used in the last 5 years and was deemed very interesting and advanced when Minardi introduced it.

So does all that equate to less gear changes? I guess so.
Also, does the fact that the box is lighter mean that it is more susceptable to breakage? |

think they use the same thin wall casting technique we use. ceramic molds in water to get a defined cooling direction. our supplier is also F1 supplier. dont think that this techique makes it more susceptable to breakage.

Spyker told me the missing drivers for Le Mans will be Dumbreck, Kane and Coronel (who was here yesterday for a McGregor fashion shoot). They found some large international sponsors and commit to a long term programm (not necessarily in GT2. "Everyting between F1 and Le Mans" is what they said.) With Spa we will see the new engine fitted (40Bhp+). More announcements are expected with Le Mans.

Well it's getting ever closer and thanks for all the updates, views and thoughts.
Anyone that needs a ticket I have a Beausejour and two entries available (once Just tickets send them) due to pre qualifying offs. We paid extortionate amounts to guarantee entries and will listen to reasonable offers. £90 bags the lot. In the meanwhile have a good tour in 06. |

I thought it was about time that I signalled the fact that I am (contrary to rumour) still in the land of the living, although I don't really feel like it today! I did my back on Wednesday night putting the lawnmower away (I told my missus that gardening was very bad for you.....). I couldn'tr move yesterday but I had to come in to work today as I'm the only seniuor manager who was due in...... Shame I picked today to get another migraine......
Still..... Much more importantly, the Tourists will be at Le Mans again. Probably a small band of 6 (the same 6 as last year). We won't be travelling over until Thursday evening but that's an awful lot better than flying to Paris on Friday (like last year!). Despite missing my good pal Fab, I will be in the pits grandstand again. Forgive me for not trawling back over loadsa posts, but have we arranged Tenths meetings for Friday/Saturday/Sunday, by any chance? |

I believe Page&Moy do a coach trip, people like Airtrack might do one too.
It might work out cheaper (and indeed better!) if there is more than one of you, to just get a cheapo ferry crossing (I've just paid £51 for mine) and buying entry tickets on the door (about £30 per head). You can either sleep in the car or stroll onto one of the campsites gratis on foot. |

I have travelled MRI twice now, before swapping to Nordic tours, and I can highly recommend them.
