And I probably could get one of those chromed racks MG tourers put on their boot lids, then I could pack a picnic table and some chairs for us. If I put some corect dated labels on them all it should pass Scrutineering ok. Al might provide Gin and Tonics.

Typically, my pit crew won't be with me so I'll be playing Jackie Ickx and walking across the track.........might wear fancy dress or something

Thought it was time to subscribe and get a pic of the old girl up!

The Le Mans start should be good for the crowd, even if slightly pointless really! All good fun though, which is was HVRA is all about!

John,

Great in-car footage. Understand your hand gestures at that TR7 but it did fire you up to catch and finally pass that Marcos.

John, Thanks for putting them on, really good. Good camera. James' video from the Marcos was good too but interesting to see the race from a "similar" car to mine.

Yes, err, well... my MG doesn't go like that in a straight line. Plus I brake earlier and I don't position as well into corners, don't carry in corner speed as high as you and I start to accellerate later.... mmmm. Other than those little things no problem!

Look forward to seeing the red MG at Brands. Has James entered with the Marcos? Should be fun.

Yeah I've entered John, start where we finished off as neither of us got a proper run in the 40min race.

I just hope its the same lines round there as in a Formula Ford, can't see us in the 46's though. Does anyone know what times we should be doing?

In the old series John and I were in, the class D cars like John's ran about 51 to 53 secs with slicks and class C, like mine around 54 to 56 secs also with slicks. Last time at Brands I ran slicks and Toyos back to back at same race meeting in perfect weather and did the same best time, 56.5secs. Never bought any more slicks as wasted on me!!

I am expecting a close race at Brands, as I think that the Astons, Camaros, Triumphs, Mercedes, Mustangs, Corvettes and Falcons were all well sorted cars/drivers that ran at Snetterton.

This time I have a co-driver for the 40 minute race, Cheng Lim has lent me Phil James from his Cobra duties.

Spoke with Bernie last night and we should have around 30 cars entered for Brands, bring it on! Full entry list to follow as soon as I have it.

Unfortunately my Vette will not be back together as we have had to rebuild the engine as it had some detonation damage so I will be side lined. Still hope to get to brands to spectate. Car will be ready for Spa and have entry so look forward to seeing some of you there.

John,

Shame to hear about your Corvette's engine. I was looking forward to seeing the car out at Brands, it does look the business!

Not doing Spa Summer Classic. Have to work. May see you at Donington in July?

Al

That's what you call a Grid of V8s! Fantastic. A real mix too.

It's not easy getting a full grid in todays climate. Bernie's done really well. Terrific cars entered, can't wait to see them. Should be great for spectators too.

The MGs just got a last few bits to be done, as I managed to find some more weight to take off the car (and driver). So I should be able to put even more pressure on the Camaros, Astons, Mustangs...mmmmm!!!

What have you done, taken yer wallet out of your overall's pocket?

Yes its a fantastic line up thats for sure, you and I are going to have to do plenty mirror watching, I will make sure I have a fully functioning incar camera as I think this will make a good video!

Got BIG mirrors on my car already! I usually get at least one or two commenting that they make the MG look like its got chromed ears, but I am going to need them for this one. (They are from my old Jag).

Its certainly going to be busy on the track! My regular co driver, Phil James usually installs his camera gear, should make for some excellent videos.
