I think Toyota's last 2 years have been leading up to this year and training for this year so I think they will be very strong. People say the programme is on a small budget.... but you don't hire that driver squad unless you mean business. I also think Toyota's hybrid is far more developed than the others.

890kg and 1x44mm was the bop that lola-rebellion received in ALMS, for WEC the car was 900kg with the same restrictor size. Fuel tank of last year was 81L after the pre le mans bop (when ts040 and other petrol lmp1 received 3L extra). Is a strange decision, for 2011 ILMC season and for 2012 ALMS/WEC 12H of sebring, grandfathered cars received a more restricrive bop, ACO is pushing rebellion against work lmp1 that should be a bit slower compared to last year.
In my opinion the funny side of the story is that surely the new R-one won't never be as fast as the old lola-rebellion with this bop! |

Actually is hard to predict if 2014 lmp1 will be faster than 2013 lmp1. In my opinion laptimes will close to 2012, but is just a speculation of mine. 15 days to the truth

At the Ricard test, on the same track configuration that they used in 2010 for the LMS 8-hour race, they lapped close to the laptimes of the 2010 factory LMP1 cars (which, let's not forget, hold the race fastest lap and 24h distance record at Le Mans).

Yeah I know that (the le mans record was given more by the fact that in 2010 there were few YFC and no rain, the 2013 R18 e-tron was able to smash that record but too much YFC and too much rain...) but last year during the silverstone race Lotterer marked a fastest lap faster than the 2010 1000km pole if memory helps me. In a track like silverstone 2013 lmp1 less powerfull but with a better aero were faster than more powerfurll but worse aero developed 2010 lmp1.
Silverstone is an high downforce track, 2014 lmp1 should have less downforce than 2013, this the reason why I think that 2014 lmp1 will run close to 2012 timelaps. |

They weigh 45kg less, have near the same power and probably near the same downforce. The tires may limit them a bit. I think the times will be 1:43's at Silverstone maybe faster.

Not so sure about the downforce. Cars are less wide, so less surface to create downforce with. I know the aero-wizards keep finding more downforce, but this is something they can't get around.

More downforce is easy---the penalty is drag. Since the cars have less drag (narrower, smaller tires) it si possible that designers could add some downforce while keeping the same drag/downforce ratio.

http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/sil...ue-lotus-t129/ Rossiter, Holzer, Albers for Silverstone. Although it still doesn't seem clear that they'll actually show at Silverstone. |

Yes! Lotus on the list in LMP1. GTE looks the same as last year but quality is good. I cant wait until unified GT regs are here.

Toyota will crush Audi and Porsche, because their MegaJoules are better.

I sure hope so, and for heavens sake I hope the tv coverage doesn't focus on the pit crew!
