Actually, okay, if we are going to talk about old cars(I guess my dad would like me to choose my favorites of those too...)
Aston Martin DBR1 Ferrari GTO BMW 507(did this race?) Merc Gullwing Shelby Cobra 427(although I like the 289 overall better, the slight astetic differnces int he 427 look more apealing to me). |

OK. How about this variation on the theme (as people are clearly desperate to go back further ).
Pick just one car from each decade, say 50's to present day (earlier if you wish). I'll have to go away and have a think first..... Last edited by Aysedasi; 26 Feb 2003 at 08:09. |

It would seem that the GT1's are a little favored here. Probably because of the road version rules.
1. Porsche GT1 '98 2. Audi R8 2000 w/ black stripe 3. '02 PLM Vette 4. Holland Dome in all black 5. Toyota Eagle |

The one pictured at the top of this page does it for me ! although I'm not so sure about this years model. The flying Mercedes were also beautiful until they hit the trees and the McLaren, while not as pretty as the road car also warms the cockles........

My favourite GTs are : - the Panoz Esperante/Hybrid - the Ferrari Daytona - The Corvette Stingray In the prototypes : - Jaguar 1988 (non cover wheels) : maybe the greater prototype I've ever seen... Last edited by Fab; 26 Feb 2003 at 16:53. |

Of course this subject of best looking car (be it sportscar or F1 or whatever) is so subjective and nobody will ever agree so I think we should agree that my choice is correct and let that be the end of it.
Seriously though, these cars all look good in their proper setting, Le Mans or whatever but I've noticed that if you put them in with a sprinkling of totally different cars that they really stand out. At the fantastic Festival Of Speed one year even my wife was astounded by the (was it 1999 - the flying ones ?) Merecedes they had there, I believe she thought it would look good on the school run........ |
