what a pile of poo ... typical beat up by media desperate for a "gasp..." reaction.
the only sad thing about it is that now Courtney will be wrecking competitive cars... |

Interesting to watch Mr Whincup on "Rexona's Greatest Athlete"
Did VERY well on the buggy challenge, and the jetski... but back midfield or below in most of the rest. Doesnt seem to have the ego-stroke the rest of the competitors have... maybe its not an area he is comfortable talking about his skill in?? Unlike motorsport... where he is a player in his team, but he doesnt own the deck... |

The thing that gets me in that article is the bit about doing it the same as the UK. As yet there has not been any customer 888 Vauxhall Vectra's, currently about to start its 3rd season, in the BTCC. The only customer cars of 888's are the old Astra Sport Hatches. When they were selling lots of Astra Coupes, 2 models ago, they were always year old cars that were sold on when 888 built new ones for the current season. The only exception maybe is the Egg Motorsport Astra's but I am sure they were ran by 888 as well.
So what UK marketing model is Roland Dane talking about ? |

True in that the Egg Sport Astra's from 2001/2 were run by 888, alongside the works cars. There were a few private Astra's getting around in 2002/3/4, but not alot of the Sport Hatches in '05 or '06 (though in 2006 888 were running 3 and at times 4 works entries), but your correct in that in the last few years 888 in England have been concentrating on themselves.
In terms of the 888 Vectra's, there was originally a customer-car announced for Team Eurotech to be driven by Andrew Jordan, but in the end Jordan was announced as the third works driver for 888. |

888 didn't sell tech info to DJR did they. I thought that that was only for the sale of the BF's and tech support to WSR. And as someone said earlier not everyone has the same driving style so what does it matter. Just something for the papers to write about, Bit like the article where Frosty threw a few stones when the guy hasn't achieved anything to date....Makes a good story

I Think 888 Provided Chasis and basic setup sheets. But Johnson has already stated the the FG have been built with input by all 3 teams to make a stronger Ford Front. (PCR, 888 and DJR) so techincally speaking tech support has been shared unamisouly through all 3 teams.

Could that be to do with imported Super 2000 cars from other European series being in relatively plentiful supply?
