NOOO!! I'm NOT a nerd. And don't say I'm a nerd again because I am most definitely not. I'm not some random that hangs out in front of the school library, I'm too cool to be a nerd! You can be a nerd if you want to, doesn't bother me!
I don't consider my tracks to be "imaginary". I'm a budding track designer, as it says as you enter My Tracks. Everyone who reads this will know my intentions to create the ultimate race track are serious. Last edited by TilkeWannabe; 12 Aug 2008 at 02:06. |

Continued
I don't know about you guys, but I want my tracks to become a reality. I take my designing very seriously to the point where they would be good enough for international motorsport, 2 and 4 wheels, to consider them the best in the world. |

Well, TW, if you're not going to study, because it 'is to much work', then you're not a nerd...
I'm Glad I am one :-) |

Off topic: Ahumm, ontopic?
On topic: My thoughts: Layout: Nicely done, and i can see where TW is coming from, it does look like (a bit) the Osterreichring/A-1 Ring for the bottom part. However, nobody seems to mentiong that it is also similar to a Zolder/Brands Hatch cross for the top part, so it is a real mix. of corners, and is nicely done. Gradient: Stick the gradient of the A1 Ring (without Boshkurve) with a gradient that is similar to the one between the back straight and Dingle Dell at Brands for the northern (longer) loop. |

Hey this is turning intrestinly on topic, to be called off-topic.
I stumbled upon this site searching for track design, since I am involved pretty heavily into building a track, for real. We need a track in PR and I'm the one pushing for it in political circles, getting involved with investors, contractors, racers, riders, promotors and I myself am vice prez of the local FIM chapter, as I am a racer myself, and also I have buried a couple of friends killed in sub-standard tracks, hug their widows,as well as have prayed besides the bed of a comrad in comma for a week. I WANT TO BUILD A TRACK AND I AM LOOKING FOR SERIOUS DESIGNERS, with whom I am looking to share ideas and discuss even the sillyest details. You know me pretty well by now,and you know how obsessed I am with things like run-off areas, intersecting sections, construction problems and economics. This forum for me is THE PLACE TO HANG OUT, even if made out by nerds, freaks etc, the ideas that flow over this place are just awesome and I respect each and every one of you for the ideas you put up. Said that, I really hope that within a reasonable amount of time, a picture of a real track born here will be posted in this forum, and to great pride for us all. The Arecibo project, as well as the Sabana Seca project are very real, solid realities that I'm involved with and one of them it's going to be a reality, untill that day I want to keep reading you all. |

@Werner: Thx for proving a point that I'm LAZY! I admit I'm verging on normal-people lazy but I can be bothered to do things. I'm not smart enough for Uni
@Bio: I feel a bit of a loner being the only serious one here. I want to be serious but......I don't know! Aren't you serious? (curious) Maybe that's an idea for changing my name; SeriousButCan'tBeBotheredTrackDesignerWannabe lol. |

While some of us are fairly serious about the designs...you only have to look at the amount of thought, presentation and not as obvious time that's put into them to know we are. But at the same time this is section is for fantasy tracks that we all know will never be built (Luiggi being the expection). It's supposed to be fun, with some stuff that we know would never work in reality, but acknowledge that fact. Look at a track I did some time ago called Extreme that I've been messing with off-site to see if I can actually re-do it in Sketchup |

That track can be built in China easily, did you saw their opening ceremony for the Olimpics?

Time to lighten up then. BTW, my last post on this thread wasn't meant to attack anyone or anything like that. I think I'll end this right NOW.
