Isnt it weird we both thought of figure-of-eight oval road courses at the same time? haha.

Number 2 on your second post today is interesting. I like some of the corners there, especially turns 1, 2, 3, 4.

I really like this style, too. Theres loads of detail and it makes it very easy to visualise what the tracks would be like in real life. Good job!

I notice in a couple of your designs, where you break up a straight with a chicane that you draw them open in twisty out.

Realising that your in Aus, that style works on the scale of the Chase at Bathurst, but on a conventional circuit, having it twisty in and open out such as (and I hate the thing) the T1 Chicane at Monza.

Worth considering.

Please remember I'm not a fan of street courses, although Kudos for creating your own city structures.

1. I'd have prefered to have T1 more of an overtaking chance, a little longer and then a single turn that meets up with the exit of T3.

2. Given a drag strip is 400m (roughly for metric) and should have around 800m out run, looking at the back straight it has to be close to 2km long.

3. The s/f straight doesn't need to lean over the the left in the final ? metres, if you make it a conventional 90 degree corner then the it exit (which on street circuits is even more of a compromise than usual works better).
Interesting use of the highway ramp though I would suspect that curve runs away with your track length, they are bigger than they look.

4. The first 3 corners all being 90 left bores me to tears, sorry but that's my dislike of street circuits showing. I've lost interest before even getting to the fly over.

5. Very residential, apart from the obvious run off issue which looking on streetview is actually worse than the map indicates. Streetview also shows some nice houses, but the roads themselves need some serious work.

I'd say welcome back, but I can't say I knew you were here . But jokes aside, for now.

1. Quite good on the whole, but I'm not a fan of complex T 9-10-11, by my count.

2. Good, and not just because it reminds me of my beloved Tsukuba, but the outside pit-lane could be an issue. But I can't think of a way to resolve at current, so... yeah.

3. No issue with the new circuit, just a question. What would the length and banking of the oval be?

Here we go. Note I do quite like them all, but...

1) assuming the oval is flat. Otherwise the S/F and road course pits would go over the top of the banking.

2) kind of concerned about the bottleneck at the top center, especially in touring cars.

3) perhaps some kitty litter on the national version of the hairpin.

4) seems like too many corners right before inner S/F; also, oval size and banking

1. yep oval is flat
2. you may be right not sure what could be done about it
3. I do agree on the national hairpin a bit of an oversite by me
4. to give it some scale the inner circuit is somewhat inspired by Enna and the oval nardo (but much larger)

1. I guess think Macau hairpin but with a little more room (long beach maybe)
2. true but a fair bit quicker

4. it is a fairly short but somewhat similar to the 1st in this batch

I think that you have come up with some really good concepts that, with just a little more thought, and practicality could make then Great.

Of the 6 above,

1 the pit exit needs to be considered carefully, as the racing line is on the right hand side of the circuit as it crosses the Chequered section - run the pit exit long and angling from just off parallel so that cars on the pit exit will be much closer to track speed by the merge point.
A chicane in the oval ? why not use the chicane to form part of the oval
A bridge needs distance to gradually climb up over and gradually back down again, you have it way to close to the layout changes.

2.No problem with using a drag strip, but Drag racers tend to be very precious over the actual strip the 1/4 mile (400m) so if you look at somewhere like Sonoma in California the use the run out, but not the actual strip. Hockenheim, the strip is off to the side of the track, the out run is raced the wrong way from the hairpin down to the Mercedes Tribune section and then peels off into the stadium just before the 1/4 mile marker.
My point make the S/F parallel with the Drag strip, the seating can be adjusted, again no problems with using the drag strip return road, just make sure that hairpin is plenty wide enough for a T1
Again not sure about why you'd want that chicane where it is.

3. I like the best, as above the Drag strip, in this case you could have had the main straight on a very slight angle that opened onto the outrun before reaching the first real corner. Again the bridge, the long straight section would have been better going over the shorter section than the way you have it, also by doing it this way, you could have the left hand side of the circuit loop under the same long bridge.
Again the oval ok as part of the complex but I'[d have it banked and standing alone.

The big oval ...scale, scale and think scale again
These are very difficult to manage, I like the infield track on the left, with the conventional chicane joining onto the oval pit road. The mini oval just doesn't look right, moving it to the right beyond the garages pretty much where you have the Roval off and back on again.

If you are going to allow yourself free design of runways, taxiways and aircraft pans, why set the s/f on the shortest section of all.

Sorry I'm not sure what's going on in the last one, other than the fact that the drag strip runs half the length of the straight, which is shouldn't

I don't have a lot of time these days to illustrate any of the above comments, but I do hope that you take my comments in the positive manor that I intend them to be.

a few thoughts

1. Regarding the pit exit it is fairly long and fast I do get your point
its somewhat similar to the pit exit at Sandown Park.
The chicane is actually part of the GP & and national layouts.
As far as the bridge there is a fairly steep downhill after the turn
with the runoff having some "banking"

2. I get your point on the dragstrip that said a lot of tracks have used
dragstrips as parts of there layouts (eg. Green Valley actually inspired
the bottom part of the layout after watching an old Trans Am race)
I guess the chicane is there as there isn't a lot of runoff for bikes.

The short track on the big oval is inspired by the one at pocono where they use to run the winston modified race of champions.

Regarding the last track I guess its a scale thing lol.
