GTE pole at 2 min 12 at SPA. That is very fast. I think that is just a couple seconds off the 2013-2016 era of LMP2 cars now

In Europe: that, Eurosport Player or Motorsport.tv. None are free and the WEC website is the cheapest without discounts.

Sounds like Rebellion are counting on bad weather to make their high downforce package work. Looks like their prayers have been answered. It's a winter wonderland.

Well, I'll be relying on you guys both on site and on this forum to keep me informed of the goings on at Spa. Velocity/Motor Trend will only basically be showing the first and last hour or so of the race (like has been typical of the sprint/non-Le Mans races).
Granted, I'll be away from my laptop for a while to watch something else for a couple of hours starting at 6:00 US Eastern time (I won't say what since I might be in for some ridicule LOL). And it seems that outside of Toyota, running LM aero in LMP1 just is a no-go this weekend. Rebellion seem to have had problems, even in the dry, getting their LM kit to work for them at Spa and reverted back to their sprint aero, SMP are running sprint aero. And the only reason why Toyota have gotten their LM aero to work is that their LM aero probably makes as much if not maybe more downforce than the privateers sprint aero for less drag. Even though one of the SMP BR Dallaras on fast laps got reasonably close to the Toyotas, I think that Toyota will still have the edge big time in the race unless something happens. Granted, the same often happened with Audi and Peugeot back in the day when they were the solo factory teams in the ALMS, Le Mans and the ELMS. |

Much smaller crowd than last year. And I have found a place at the bottom of Eau Rouge to photograph from, hurrah! |

Dry with 10 minutes till green. But extremely cold (5 Deg C air temp). Spots of rain at the back of the circuit, with hail reported but not visible on any camera right now. |

Laurent having none of the SMPs nonsense into Eau Rouge. Van Der Garde goes to the lead of LMP2 up the hill. Entertaining first few corners.

Hail at T1. Toyota pit. Rebellions pit. SMP stays out, gambling on a SC.

Entire circuit is now under sleet and snow. Visibility dropping. SMP pits after losing far too much time.
Ferrari also gambled on staying out and regretted it. Aston now lead both GTE classes due to the good pit stop call. |

Even by Spa's standards, that was an abrupt and forceful change of weather.
Looks driveable for now though. |

Toyota managed to have no tyres ready despite it sleeting for 3 minutes before the pit stop. #7 lost time but has kept the lead. #8 dropped behind Rebellion.
Laurent and van der Garde are amazing right now. Laurent is lapping around the same time as the Toyotas. VDG is currently 5th overall. |

#91 Porsche pits early. There's quite clearly snow on the rear deck of the car.
Interesting thing to note - the horrendous conditions have closed up the laptimes. Toyota re fastest but not THAT much faster. Conway is pulling away but Buemi is yet to make his way to second. And the LMP2s are closer to the LMP1s than normal. It seems the cold temperature has closed them all up. Safety Car called. |

Yannick Dallmas almost binned the safety car down at Stavelot.
Situation is improving. Less wind is improving visibility, but it is still snowing down the back if the circuit. |
