Becasue the meeting has gotten so big, the organisers have decided to drop a class from the programme, they will rotate the dropped class each year. This year they dropped the big banger sports cars, next year they will be back and someone else will be dropped.

That is a bit strange considering the organisers choice of vehicle on the promotional poster...

Against what? If the sports cars that it raced against (IIRC) aren't there, then who will it get put against?

I would assume M and O Sports Racing, unless they put it in with Q and R racing....

Isn't there going to be some emphasis on Alfa for it's 100 year anniversary?

Yes Alfa is the featured marque and several cars from the Alfa Museum will be there.
If you want to get an early start on seeing them several will be at the Island this weekend for the Alfa Club's all Alfa meeting.

I spotted three NSW Mini's coming down the Hume, and a SA Torana (I think) heading in the Western Fwy.

Hopefully we don't end up looking like drowned rats this year...

The buzz starts for me at this and every meeting with the ritual of setting up in the garage and seeing the boys from other teams doing the same. The friendly banter, the light hearted digs, the reminiscing, the predictions for this meeting, I love it!!!

PS. Can someone bring some rain with them please?

Judging by all our Island experiences last year, the In Pit Lane crew will be bringing rain.
Every meeting we attended last year it poured and all during the worst drought in 100 years.

I do love the foam blocks and arrows in the background of the photo above which are designed to stop McConville from a repeat performance......

It was great to see Paul Stubber's Mazda RX7 gradually improve over the weekend and claim a win in the last race.

I've always thought a top notch Group C RX-7 should be a front runner in the right hands. Love to see some pictures of this car in the races.

How dominant were the RX-2's in the under 3000cc Group Nc races as well, love it.
