Getaway Plan are normally pretty good...don't write them off just from that performance.
I must say I have never heard anyone sound good playing in the middle of a racetrack - even Diesel a couple of years ago on the Clipsal grid didn't sound great. I'd be curious to know how exactly they got that gig, though - is there a fan in the VESA office, or is their manager just looking for some unusual angles? |

As for the girls Rombles, I guess you and the Missus don't go to the beach either. If that is her description of them then she needs to get out a bit more often. Arrrgh, Adelaide that explains it. Last edited by sizzle; 10 Jun 2008 at 10:57. |

get rid of the following:-
XXXX girls on track, certainly have them floating around the place i.e. off track. drift cars... why would circuit racing people want to see that? burnout cars? again... what purpose do they have apart from making racing look more and more like "hooning".... not cool army burnout truck, biggest waste of tax $$$$ ever! if you want coverage sponsor a racing team like the defence forces do in NASCAR! stunt bikes.... they have had their day... boring add more :- touring car legends again thanks (biante) historic F5000 maybe Aussie cars F3 basically anything that is REAL racing.... the sandown weekend had too many dead patches, filled with re-run infomercials on the big screen!!!! |

Why we needed to sit thru this is beyond me. Fair enough at the track, as a bit of entertainment if you must, but to broadcast it was just stupid. I'd rather of skipped the band and had one less F%^#n annoying ad break during the race. |

If the XXXX girls are to stick around, maybe someone should educate them on how V8 Supercars works to begin with... on one of the big screen interviews, one brunette said the XXXX retreat was a great place to come and watch the "game"... HELLO!!!

Had to have a bit of a giggle when they opened pit exit for the V8s before the start of the race and the XXXX float was still on the track near turn 1.
Things can get busy upstairs at times. |

If there is a V8 race at Sandown next year, (and my scources tell me after last weekend's crowd debarcle it is odds on to not happen) I am willing to offer my services: Perhaps as a XXXX Angel wrangler. I'd hate to see any of them led astray. |

Whatever, I could never agree that dancers like that are "down to earth".
The XXXX Angels makes me confused about what signal V8 Supercars is trying to send. Before they were trying to target kids with Weetbix, then it was women with that strong Orrcon bloke getting his dial on the telly every round... |

I was located down at turn 1 for most of the weekend so didn't have access to a big screen but could hear the commentary on 99.7. One hour of "Entertainment" between the last Fujitsu Race and the last Main Game race was too much although from my fellow marshals who witnessed it the wheelstand ute rolling at Turn one was impressive on Sunday. I vote for more racing & less entertainment sessions (except to fill crash gaps in the programme). |

[QUOTE=kramer]How about another race, for a class of cars that don't all look and sound exactly the same.
Sounds good to me. Great programming by Vesa at Sandown on Monday. Porsche raced finished at 9.55am then nothing on track till Fujitsus at 11.00am. That aint Sandowns fault either. |

Fantastic, a hole hour to play tidily winks at a race track. Got to make you wonder what they think people come to these type of events for? - Answer being sit around and do nothing
At least the dancing girls could have entertained |

The race organising committee program the events, organise support classes etc: Am I the only one that thinks that the Monday race day program at Sandown more than resembled a Sunday race day at the F1 GP ? When are these people going to realise that the fans want to be kept interested by RACING CARS actually RACING ? |

Its a bit sad when the Development Series gets cut short so we can have an "Entertainment" session before the start of the V8SC main event.
UC you're right about the "Feel" to Monday. |

get rid of them both. there's plenty of grid girls around at any given time to ogle at if that's your thing. the burnouts are cool for the kids, but what we all want to see is racing. so add some more support categories and squeeze them all in to a full days race programme with no gaps.
