Hmm.....I think someone is playing "hush" with this whole thing, while the signs ad reports show otherwise.

I agree, especially with those silly front winglets, it's likely to be a track day special like the SLR 722 GT.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw front winglets in the main picture, but I didn't see any in the later pics. But that is a huge rear wing, is that a GT3 approved size or just McLaren out having fun with their toy?

Im not sure if they would be legal anyway , probably not , and probably not that big . That rear wing looks illegal , but it should be that big in my opinion . Bring'em back I say .

Would make sense. But it could be the GT3 car and they're just experimenting with different aero (however weird they may be). But cant see that aero on the GT3 car, as others have said and with a fair amount of truth, those pieces would not last long!

Well according to Sportmotores.es, ART Grand Prix is the team that will bring Mclaren to racing. Is expected a GT2 version of the car.

I understand that the GT3 car will surface around March. There will be a programme of testing with a few races towards the back end of the season, a bit like the AMG SLS.
There should be an announcement regarding GT2 late in January but nothing is in stone yet. |

We KNOW it's a bloody GT3. There is also likely to be an LM-GT version. Do try to keep up. The photos of the black car are neither a GT2 or a GT3. Some weird thing, but not FIA spec anything.

No mention at all of the LM GT in that article. One step at a time I suppose, but I will be pretty gutted/****ed off if the project goes no further than GT3.

And didn't the ACO change the regulations to allow carbon chassis' in the GTE class? One could speculate that this was done for McLaren's benefit.

The GTE is apparently being announced in January, possibly at the Autosport show.

There is quite a long time frame on this project so I would hope that by mid-2012 we will be seeing some GT2 movement. They need to get a move on IMO but I would love to see this at Le Mans one day. EDIT: That would be excellent JAG I hope you're right on that one. |
