Yep, like that one (And I've given up praising Ker's shots - I'll start sounding far too boring..... ) |

I'm sorry I can't share a shot from the Philip Island historic meet in February this year I was quite happy with, it is on film. It was Tom Price's Ferrari 250GTO going through the sweeper at the end of the Garder Straight against a background of grass and ocean. I took about 20 shots of that car...
Here is one though of a Lola T70 crouching in its transporter. Sorry it's not fantastic quality though. Last edited by johnh875; 25 May 2004 at 09:19. |

I was quite pleased with this one I took of the Porsches at Oulton on Sunday. The original is a lot sharper than the scan, it's only been scanned in at a low dpi and my scanner is getting a bit old, hence the blue scan lines in the bottom third.

Why have you cropped out that leading car? A magazine picture editor would just laugh at it!

A bit harsh. It has been posted on an amateur forum not submitted to Autosport.
If the second car is sharp enough, may be crop out the first car altogther. Last edited by Snapperjack; 26 May 2004 at 08:35. |

Thanks Snapperjack. I've got the same shot without the leading car there. I'm purely an amateur, I only shoot off two rolls per meeting at most, from the public enclosures, with standard equipment. However, I do appreciate comments, as its the one of the best ways to improve.

mcurtis, perhaps a more constructive version of what Baz was saying would be to suggest cropping the photo around the two cars on the right.
You could do this at home or in a store where you can scan at a high resolution (Jessops etc.) Otherwise, keep enjoying what you're doing. |

Yep. I'd like to go digital so i can take more photos without having to worry about cost of developing, but the price of digi slr's is too high at the moment. Does anyone know why those blue line appear on a scan? i wondered if it was light getting under the lid?

I would agree that it would be better to crop the photo with the two on the right because the shot makes the two cars look extremely close and it gives them a nice angle as they are about to turn in. I would say as long as you’re enjoying yourself and your photos then keep at it and enjoy yourself.
I was mainly concentrating on getting shots of the touring cars but here’s my best one from the Porsche race. |

Edit: You wanted to get around the rules here so posted a picture in an unrelated forum? Redshoes |

2 photos per race meeting or event, so surely mcurtis is ok here?
Anyway, that's a better shot as you don't have the distraction of a car moving out of the frame. |

I love the contrast of light in that McNish shot.

Cheers Ayse, looking forward to comparing notes on our beloved 10Ds on Saturday!
You're in the pits GS aren't you? Less fencing from there means even better pics... |

Do pictures featuring bits of sportscars count?
http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/albu..._photo=5109232 A very wet Miami ALMS paddock, thankfully they put the doors back on the Ferrari before David Brabham, etc. drove it. Or cars which appear to be asleep? http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/albu..._photo=5109220 The Joest Audi, again taken in the Miami paddock. |
