Indeed. They'll just get another waiver. No-one at the ACO really cares anymore.

I am going to speculate that next year's race won't include any active F1 drivers. Unless the Canadian GP gets moved.

Could the speculated Corvette C8 get homologated for GTE in time for Le Mans 2020? If not what will happen? I would think perhaps P&M should consider running the C7 in GTE AM. All they need to do is bring in a few silver and bronze drivers. Aside from that you can have the same cars and crew as they have ran this year.

Maybe if the NASCAR teams does good enough job in the ASLMS old gen class and gets auto invite for LM, we could see their looking-like-IMSA-heading-Riley making comeback in LMP2 at Le Mans too? Just wondering. It's a terrible chassis but terrible chassis have long history at LM lol. And it's not more money thrown to Hughes de Chaunac's pockets |

That would be good but they had better be getting some of the Mazda chassis updates because that car is a dog. Presumably the aero is pretty terrible too, judging by its awful 2017 LM appearance in the hands of very capable drivers.

They won't get anything but in any case, DPi is a straight BoP class so I don't think one can't judge how much the "Mazda" body bits and engine actually make difference and how much is politics. Plus it's Joest

hope to remember correctly but after the first year multimatic kept on working with speedsource and then joest to improve the mazda dpi platform while riley kept his duty to the ACO spec lmp2. The riley-multimatic lmp2 didn't get any real update and the car kept on using a poor developed aero/chassis; while multimatic did a good job on making the mazda more reliable and competitive anyhow. Just need to consider that both mazda and riley-multi lmp2 have a silly lmp3 style windscreen, that being part of the carbon tub it can't be changed at all... riley lmp2 kept on having shameful top speed, mazda dpi had always great top speed.... at the end mazda dpi got better suspensions, a more optimized in-tub airflow to improve cooling and a better aero + a more powerful and reliable AER engine. Riley dp2 is basically still the old untouched silly lmp2. |

It doesn't make any sense but their reasoning is that those who want it better run in ELMS P3
Remember that ACO wanted a ladder where you had to formally "qualify" for ELMS through MLMC, in theme of their "pyramid of endurance", but it was quietly dropped after single season (just like the Asian Le Mans Sprint Series) |

Time to throw out that GT3 auto invite then - and might as well do away with the second GTE invite as well, there's plenty (read: too many) GTE-Am entries already anyway. And gotta make room for all those DPi's! Edit: I would give the P3 winner a full season entry for P2 in next year's series (and GT3 for GTE) but not for LM. Same idea for AsLMS. And option to take up that 'auto entry' in either ELMS or AsLMS (and make sure calendars don't overlap/aren't too tight). Last edited by Coach Ep; 16 Nov 2019 at 14:45. |

Stepping up a level? Yes and no. The LMP2 machine is faster but coming from a top shelf GTE Pro team like Pratt and Miller wouldn’t be much of a step up (no disrespect to High Class). I think he’ll do fine. I’m glad he’s still driving. |
