Hi Goosey and welcome to the madhouse!
Am guessing that you are up north as you say you're going to Croft, or are you just following the BTCC? If you can let us know we can help you with training and probably buddying up with an experienced marshal, and loads of other stuff too. I also have loads of videos of circuit incidents. On a side-note, if that's the biggest crash you've seen in years, you've obviously missed this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=annnUk80r58 Yes, they both survived (incredibly enough). |

We're moving a bit out of the 'marshals' arena here, folks, and remember we're not happy to link to fatal incidents. If someone can convince me the driver got out of that fireball I'll reinstate it, but otherwise it's deleted.
Videos of marshalling things OK in here, otherwise I guess Armchair Enthusiast is the place, but again, no nasties please. |

OK, first thing they all are OK
http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?...h=star%20mazda First lap of Star Mazda in Montreal. I was at 4A on flags (the last shot from behind the cars just before the incident was exactly my view, the TV camera was above my head!). Reason for posting, well: a) Those cars are strong, no serious injuries. Worst was 1 concussion. b) Remarkable response from the marshals on the 3 corners involved, 4A and 6 backing up the marshals at 5 c) excellent response from the safety crews -- see how quickly rescue vehicles were there!! The most increbible thing was, it took 1/2 hour to clean up (kudos to the tow trucks and kaboda crews), we ran a shortened race, and by the start of the next session were back on schedule. And that was a BIG mess.... Great Job by everyone |

quite right. There can't be too many circuits that have trees just inches off the tarmac...well, without armco guarding them anyway! |

No action, and the lady ?owner? seems remarkably calm, but this must have been one h*ll of a crash:

Could be! She seems to have got out the polish (see car top) to deal with this little scratch.

Real Marshals?
Are these real marshals? Or just a couple of boobs?

And I thought the driver was amazed at seeing four marshals squeezed onto post 24 at the start of the pit lane.

Golly, this is old! We must have filmed this at Brands Hatch about two years ago! Notice the careful editing from a wet actual race at Druids, damp at Surtees then suddenly dry on the Brabham Straight, and then an absence of any Pit crew along the Pit wall; However, well done, and only took a day (upto 8pm if I remember rightly, and possibly "stunt drivers".

ouch, that was quite a ride. Thought all stock cars had flaps to stop cars lifting off like that, or was it just one of those things where circumstances meant they didnt work in time?
