The article specifically names RD & Betty as members of the group of team owners "hatching the plan"

Isnt the bloke from Archer appointed the 3rd one they have had on the V8SC entity?

Interesting quote from the story: "The talks have not been escalated to the entire group, with the most powerful team owner and a person essential to any bid claiming he had not been included in any discussion."

Wonder who "the most powerful team owner" is meant to be? Roland is part of the group, Betty too. Surely the author doesn't seriously consider a Kelly to be "the most powerful team owner"?
They were posted before the thread started...

Running down the numbers to drop the price? Problem, reaction, solution.

No mystery.

The teams previously had 75% ownership and there 75% of the profit dividend.
When they chose to sell this reduced to 35% of profit split 28 ways. Apparently a lot of team owners failed to recognise simple mathematics and then started whinging when it became a reality, expecting to cash 2 cheques.

Added to this is the tv deal is millions and millions less per year.

Perhaps, but not enough to buy spare parts for Bathurst.

Perhaps, it was the Bathurst starter motor that let them down on the weekend?
