A bit annoying to discover the ship was sent from Sydney to Brisbane for the de-bio-fouling; having just spent 5 weeks there (only left last Thursday) I could have rounded up some of my son's mates with scuba gear and done the flippin' job ourselves ! Containers won't arrive in NZ until the 4th Feb so definitely missing the first race weekend. We will all get together racing on the 9th at Levels. Still, there's plenty of worse things in the world.

So let me get this straight. Racing is suspended while Iain has his bottom scraped, possibly by Rich who may actually be Rob. Thankfully Rob's a doctor so should have some cream for it. Meanwhile Gilbert is still in Australia with MG David. Who is driving a Gilbern, not an MG.
All clear as mud, m'lud. |

Spot on Max . Poor Rich who really is Ritz thinks that we are another ship with same problem .So the guys already in NZ think that there are two ships getting hull cleaned . Got it .?

Sounds like a plot of some dastardly detective show to me.

I, for one, am completely lost. I'm getting on the plane to NZ now, and we're definitely a scratch for Ruapuna. I'm quite ****ed off at the shipping company. This is obviously a known and completely predictable issue, and a bunch of racecars missing a race is nothing compared to, say, a shipment of perishable medical supplies being held up for weeks and going off in the summer heat. Somebody's head should roll....

On the lighter side, and in an attempt to out-Rowley Iain, here I am taking a dip in the Pacific while wending our way south to catch the ferry to South Island.

Been offered a couple of drives but probably give it a miss . Few Formula 5000 here now that would be tempting but won’t happen . Thanks for asking Dr?

Funny old day today . Went to meet a guy who has a FF2000 Argo . He wanted me to go and see him for some advice on the body work . We had a lovely couple of hours and cups of tea . As we left my Son said “ what’s that loaded in the trailer “. My new friend said “ it’s a Titan Formula Ford race ready for your Dad to drive “.Now I am Very excited .

6 am and still dark but getting light . Another cuppa then walk track . Got through all the paper work and tech . Nothing is to much trouble for all the officials . Practice 9.20. Thanks for posting the pictures of the Escort Pete . This is a famous Escort built in the 70’s. I’m sure EB will find out the history . I do need to build another MK1. ?
