Race Director isn't the problem. It is my crap computer and my slow internet.
I have got broadband but it is only fast for 5 days then for 3 weeks it is snail pace. I just hope I remember to stay out of any Champcars forum untill Tuesday so I don't know the results before I see the race. I better leave the champcars forum. I will be back Tuesday. |

A lot of drama in this race. While I think Bourdais is innocent in relation to his latest altercation with PT, I do think the race officials need to put both these guys on notice.
They need to keep their noses clean when it comes to each other. You can see why it happens though, Bourdais is just as aggressive as PT is. Forsythe was really quite ****ed off though. You hardly ever see the guy normally and all of a sudden there he is yelling at Haas. I had to do a double take. And Gerry what the heck is it with that shirt? Somebody lied to you! Yikes!!! I agree with both Vasser and Servia, who in post race interviews both stated that Champ Car need to use a different wing package on the Vegas oval. The downforce is just to high, the racing needs to include more driver input. Good job by all the drivers though. A relatively yellow free race (1) is pretty good considering the amount of rookies with no oval experience in the field. |

Yep, and our part time front runners of the year were quite off (Allmendinger, Ranger, Wilson etc.) just shows that if Champcar still was a mixed bag, Bourdais, Servia, Tracy etc. would be even further ahead with the lack of oval skills.
Wirdheim impressive though for his 2nd oval race. As had been said, HVM are pretty good at these ovals. |

Avril again impresses on the oval - maybe he'd do a good job in the IRL. A shame da Matta has had another underwhelming race.

Avril?
The race is under protest, I personally doubt it but Bourdais may be stripped of the win. In a way I hope he is, because it just effectively named him Champion of 2005. (Assuming that Ansan is about to be cancelled). What an exciting race it was! How can anybody not enjoy the occasional oval? That was great! Sad to see Bremer run into his pitcrew on the first stop, he was running very well until then. One must wonder if that wasn't Vasser's final oval run. He refuses to confirm his retirement, but it seems likely. Great runs from several drivers. Although I think I saw Glock running under the white line on at least two occasions, he got away with it without penalty. What really surprised me was the lack of a yellow when Sebastien lost his shock-cover. It appeared to fly up toward the wall and stay on the track. I guess not! Yeah... In my opinion, that was the most exciting race of the year. |

I don't think he'll be stripped of the win but if he was the big winner would be ServiÃ*, not Tracy...
It was exciting but it wasn't in a way... it's difficult to pass if the guy in front holds the low line and makes no mistakes... |

Well done to Marcus Marshall!
Fantastic result in only his second race on an oval. |

I agree with macdaddy. Thrilling stuff. Beginning to end. Lot's of action, and fun to watch them try to go three wide.
On the other hand, I also agree with Vasser and Servia about a different wing package. But if they don't change it, I can't say I would complain. It's hard to argue with such an exciting event. |

I setup my VCR incorrectly and of course TSN didn't rebroadcast the race, nor would Molstar cut me some slack and let me watch it on Speed.

Hurricane Relief 400 Race Results
1st S. Bourdais 2nd O. Servia 0.312 3rd J. Vasser 3.604 4th M. Dominguez 7.169 5th R. Lavin 7.538 6th B. Wirdheim 7.555 7th A. Tagliani 8.161 8th T. Glock 1 Lap 9th M. Marshall 1 Lap 10th R. Hunter-Reay 1 Lap 11th J. Wilson 2 Laps 12th C. da Matta 2 Laps 13th A. Allmendinger 3 Laps 14th A. Ranger 4 Laps 15th R. Sperafico 5 Laps 16 N. Philippe (DNF) 17 P. Tracy (DNF) 18 R. Bremer (DNF) That race was so boring! After seing how close everyone was in practice and qualifying I was expecting a very close race (1st-18th) Why dose the CCWS even have oval races if the races are never close. Servia was the only driver that was close to Bourdais. Why is there closer racing on road and streat circuits than there is in ovals? Ovals are the races that are meant to be closest. The oval Indycar races are very close. |
