Jeees, is that a brand new kart AND circuit!?!? Looks exceptionally clean! I spend hours cleaning mine and it still looks filthy round the back!

kart is pretty new, Tony Venox '04 Vortex ICA '03 engine.
Track is from 1999 i think, it hasnt changed since it was built (as smooth now as it was in '99). Its the Sepang kart track - other tracks should take note of how to lay the asphalt down - F1 style. The helmet is a bit old, as are the gloves and shoes. Suit quite new. The pic was taken about a month ago. here's my team-mates, same corner same day same race: |

I drove without a nosecone last year after it was swiped off in a turn one collision and i didn't feel very safe, it's juts weird seeing nothing infront of your feet, even if it is only plastic!

I know what you mean speedy king , In once race i did without the nosecone I missed my breaking point at the end of the straight and slammed into the back of the guy infront of me , my front bar got caught under his back bar and we both sailed off into the gravel trap and there was nothing i could do at all and my foot was totally exposed to his kart and I hurt my big toe

nosecones and sidepods give you some protection, but also let you get away with nudgeing and other lowlife acts! The pics of me and the mrs are from about '95 which explains the lack of nosecones. I think they are mandatory in Victoria and have been for a few years as I had to buy one at some stage (and I wouldn't if I didn't have too, although they upped the minimum weights to cater to the nosecones and that would have meant adding some more lead on my kart, so maybe I did buy it because of the weights), and my last race was in '97.

Here's my 67 year old dad driving my shifter at Badger Raceway in Wisconsin last fall. He raced karts back in the early 60's.

Nice pictures. Just saw you on the results table on the hkrc web site. Will you be doing the TKM festival?

yup, we are doing the tkm festival.. hopefully i'll have better luck than last year. (did 30 laps outta the 2 whole race days!) are you doing the pfi 'max/tkm' meeting? cause we are doing that too
on the lap times on kimbolton site(also for some reason it reads that my fastest lap time was always about a second slower than everyone else, even though for the whole race we were nose to tail *like picture one* till last lap where i made a mistake *out braking myself*) Last edited by #15 tkm 4/; 2 May 2004 at 12:44. |
