It was reported in one of our motorsport publications here in Oz yesterday (wed 5th) that Martin Brundle has revealed that Kimi has been offered a US$250m / 5 year deal to go to Ferrari and that he is considering it as he is a little cranky at the lack of reliablility McLaren have. Martin went on to say that he would advise Kimi not to sign such a long deal as a lot can change in 5 years. How he found this out and why he is making it public only he knows....

IMHO Kimi will be there in 2007 along with VR, as long as Michael retires of course.

However much it specifically is, anyone offered that sort of dough is bound to want to move!
BTW, i'm not that convined about the Rossi no2 thing, more likely he'll end up at Red Bull... if it takes Indycar drivers months of testing (and they already have years of car racing experience) to get to grips with F1 cars how on earth is Rossi gonna find the time to do it whilst he's still riding bikes next year? |

Ferrari offered him a lifetime job. If he retires in 2006, he can still be around "working".

Regardless if it's $40-50M/year, that's a heck of a lot of money.
I really wonder how substantiated these rumours are? Don't get me wrong, Kimi is a heck of a driver, but when they started paying MS that kind of ridiculous money he was a 2x WDC. There were also a fewer questions as to MS's ability relative to the field. I don't hear anyone proposing that Kimi is a lot better than everyone else as was the case with MS when he signed with Ferrari. That's also assuming that Ferrari have even talked with Kimi, let alone have talked about paying him 2-3x above what anyone else is earning. |

Isn't button now earning more than Ralf, at least before he gives a fair chunk back to Frank?
