mmm_five should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
How can I find out if I've really volunteered for this event, or just have a false memory of volunteering.

I vaguely remember volunteering a long time ago (but still this year), and my calendar at home has me listed as volunteering, BUT how can I make sure I am on the list, and that my overalls will be ready (i.e. they might need to order a huge amount of proban specifically ).

Hi

I'm new to this marshalling lark (first year) and hear a lot about this event. Just wondered if someone can let me know what the set up is for it? Take it you don't have to stand on post for the full 24hrs

The other question is, should I do it? (although I think I already know your answers... )

Nope, usually posts will have some sort of shift system inplace, timings are dependent on the people on post

Yes, do it, contact either Alan or Pam

Looks like I'm getting 2 pies this year, as I've already volunteered TWICE

That's if the ''PIE-LADY'' can find her way around the circuit.

My Mrs is Welsh and I keep slipping into North Wales lingo every now and then.

But then again, all being well and good, I'm being a Farm Boy for the weekend!

I got told by my mate from North Wales that my Welsh accent makes me sound 'like a Taff' and I spent part of Sunday wandering round Pembrey Country Park looking for the bit that meets the track we didnt even find it!
Anyway, I think that qualifies me, but only if Fran understands that us girls should stick together instead of joining in with you lot taking the mick out of me like at Combe!!!

The country park is no where near the track, so it doesn't meet it at all. However, if you can find your way onto the national cycle path which goes near the gate of the park and then through the forestry areas, and are prepared for a 2 mile odd walk.

Gachjoel, I should think Alan Tyson would be the man to talk to.

I am beginning to see the possibility of a Wales themed Woodcote Gap flag and incident team. No Wales rugby shirts please, theyll confuse the drivers.

Sure thing Gary. I shall compile a list of those willing to form a Welsh centred/themed Woodcote Gap and then contact Alan Tyson.

Could those wishing to form part of this team please PM me with your name and available duties.

Flag for you Kevin seeing as you are allergic to rescue units?

??????????

Im going to get a head torch for this year so I'm not relying on my camping light (which is broken anyway!) not that I used it last year but always helpful.
Saw some on offer in Bridgend the other day, should have bought a couple, that would have continued the Welsh theme too

I just thought during the night flagging rules were hear screech, wake up, pull switch down for stationary or hear bang do the same but push switch up for flashy!!!! Once you hear cars racing again you know safety car is in so turn off!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheila, light will be OK in the fog - just watch your eyes for the reflection but if you are as past it as you say then your eyes are problably poor anyway!!!

Bit of advice for the virgin flaggies, bring gaffa tape, cable ties, sunglasses & 2 of 3m x 3m tarpaulins - a must have in the kit bag. gaffa tape for safety car board (tape onto hazard board - saves sore arms) and cable ties for light pole - you can then secure them round the flag point structure rather than where it will fit. Also good for securing your gazebo to what ever you can find that is heavy.

3m x 3m tarpaulins are to make gazebo curtains, stops your kit getting wet when the dew (or fog) comes down Sun morning.

Sunglasses are for during the night - trust me some posts you end up blind with the headlights!!! Luffield in springs to mind.
