IT does show a bridge - but it got a tunnel instead for some reason.
Pictures during construction : http://www.latphoto.co.uk/photos;sea...onington&pp=25 Looks like they've built the ramps into the tunnel too close to the sides of the track |

Thats right Stig, the entrance and exit ramps nearly touch the racetrack at both sides, probably to save money because they have none.
Thats probably where the bridge went - too expensive so built a tunnell. |

It is definatley not temporary, robert feranall is blaming Tilke for the tunnell saying it was part of his 2010 masterplan

That made me laugh Dave. Nearly losing a couple of meetings & having a neutralised area to race on, minimal disruption...... |

It is always a good entry, and I understand that there are more entries than on the published list.

Fay,
At work & can't call you, but I'll flag/obs one of those posts if you need. No preference (does post 15 still exist though - isn't that where the tunnel is?) Al. |

Judging by the fact that there will be permanent yellows by McLeans and Coppice were we to have a Safety Car period its going to be difficult to follow the new regs of flags going in all directions. My guess is that confusion will cover all us flaggies.
Its going to be disruptive to competitors and even less fun than usual for those on the bank. Should be interesting when we get into lapping. Maybe we'll just get a spread out snake round the circuit that closes up like under a safety car when they come to the restricted bit. That would be pure comedy. After Hamilton's Australia debacle were a car to slow significantly or come to a halt in the yellow zone everyone would just have to park up to avoid the Clerk's Cane. Suddenly I'm not looking forward to this one - hope HSCC get a refund. |

The meeting went very well-big grids, great racing and sunshine! The yellow flag zone seemed to work, although 3 (I think) black flags were shown to drivers who passed there. Some people seemed to think it actually improved the racing as the zone acted like a safety car and bunched the field up! I was posted at the chicane so we had loads of overtaking going on there. Well done HSCC for making the most of a difficult situation (I heard the MGCC meeting went well too).
The tunnel area is a mess though and needs sorting quickly if the big events are going to happen this year. Heaven knows what the bike guys will make of it! |
