I thought it about time I had a go at this... sorry the graphics are very rough, as not at my own PC

Main Circuit in Red running anti-clockwise. The Start finish would be at the bottom left. There is space for a paddock or more likely a holding area which would be accessed by crossing the track between races.

Orange is a perimeter type circuit that misses out the infield

Blue is a short cirtcuit that cuts acros into the infield after T1 but misses out the hairpin section before rejoining the main circuit.

I can't seem to get the attach to work this evening I'll try this method and hope it works.

Shambles,
your design seems to go out of boundary on the left hand side and is about 2-300 meters shy - which is a shame because IMHO it's the best concept I've seen here so far.

Yet another approach:

This one is pretty close to what I would do,I'm almost there. It does have the longest possible straight and another one that grants 3rd gear, solid.

This challenge of yours seems to be quite popular. No time at school, try tomorrow.

All nice efforts, guys, but a bit squarish, I think.

Here's my second attempt:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2134582

I have taken into account the restrictions you mentioned about the dry bed etc and i feel this is better than my first attempt. It is now 1.9km long (1.2 miles). It has one long straight, and one long curve which can effectively be treated as a straight. I kept your favourite section and only slightly altered the rest of the karting circuit.

Let me know what you think

Hey that's a very intresting approach,on getting into the upper lefthand ,that mongo-curve I like very much, I'm going to have to merge a couple of sections and come out with a great track.

As of Matt's attempt,I quickly fell in love with your approach to the upper left hand section, there's something there I hadn't thought about, and very good, I however, still don't understand why you put such incredibly tight vertices, I already stated that there are some parts of the existing track that are almost unridable at any speed, due to the really small radius, yet you made those even tighter, not even a bicicle would be able to turn at any speed, you need to round of some of those in order to make them real, they would be good on a 200 acre sized track but here were talking 30 acres.

Yeah paint curves are the best I've found for giving exact radiuses that you can tailor very specificly, even better than GoogleSketch, wich only allows perfect circles(you have to tie several of them to make a changing radius)

Now I have adopted "Matt's corner" on my design, you might not have the best infield but I did find what I was looking for on your sketch, fot the upper left part.

Thanks Luiggi. Here's a refinement to that idea:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2135589

I have now made it over 2 km long, and given you a nice 300m + straight for you to get some speed up. Hope you like it

Your feeble attempt is a very good one, I'd say. Save for some speed issues - seems a bit slow paced track. But for that it's a great one.

My home computer is unable to upload anything because it won't "Go Advanced". Very frustrating. I tried loading it and it was in the same spot as it was 1 hour later.

Thats a really good track, it does look very "bio" to me asthetically pleasing and well thought.

I would meet the bottom part with main straight, as bio said, it would be aufully small when in fact we need more breathing room, let me have a straight that runs all over the bottom part of the terrain, the lefthand part absolutly rules,I will try to merge some features to the team-designed drawing.

BTW, just yesterday we were down there in Sabana Seca ripping out in the small track, noneless we had so much fun only pics can tell:

That thing is so tight in some places I ran into the grass several times during the heat of the battle.

Sorry fot the off-topic but there's some angles there that show how badly we need a more open area, with larger radius turns.I'm the blue bike with the checkered pattern
