Porscheman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So how many cars are actually entered for this

There is 10 UK cars racing in Barcelona 24 hours this weekend so that has had an effect

well, I left it too late to camp in the circuit, it's full... so Whittlebury Park it is. If you see a large Saab, come and say hello.

So it looks like it's going to be a good crowd, I don't think the camping has been fully booked before.

Theres no Viper, Horsepower racing Ferrari, Azteca Mosler, ( ok, the drivers are in another mosler, but with their car it could have been 3 not 2 ), Dan Jones Lotus, Hawthorns Porsche 997, Jones Family 997, Rapier, Backdraft Lamborghini ( there were 2 earlier in the season ), Bullrun Ferrari and Orbital sound Elise. Just imagine how awesome the entry would look with these included. Having said that, i'll still be there all 3 days, but it must be frustrating for the organisers. I'm sure it comes down to money, so next year, maybe cut the number of rounds in half, have 4 or 6 hr races, and maybe spread the cost a bit. Just my opinion, i'm not privvy to any special info.
but isn't the event non championship?

Dont think it is a championship round, but i see where he is coming from. This is the main Britcar event and a big number of Britcar teams arnt doing it. I do think teams who do the championship should be able to do the 24 at a cheaper rate than others.

But the enty is still decent and i cant wait for what should be a good event.

Just a shame a couple of teams have dropped out, from who was on the entry list a couple of weeks ago!

The thing is, the tickets are stupid money. £30 got a weekend ticket for LMS, yet they want £35 for Britcar?

There was a 2-for-£30 offer doing the rounds prior to this year's race, much like there was last year.

I think that's what I have - so I can drive around the perimeter as well as park in the middle??

But that's for 3 days whereas the LMS was only 2 plus the Britcar as much as I loved the LMS is going to be far more entertaining.

I got our tickets at £10 for two (including the car pass), but then I did book and pay around Christmas time when the first offer came out.

There is no excuse for anyone to moan about the "on the gate" prices when there have been plenty of offers over the past 9 or 10 months!

Anyway let's hope for a decent crowd at this years event, it's slowly building and there can't be any complaints about the weather based on the current forecasts!

Roll on Friday

All packed and ready to go. Funny that a week ago I was planning for getting wet, now shorts and suncream are packed with some warm layers for the night. Oh and loads of Fosters!
Can't wait!!

That's the UK for you...

As to the cost thing? I wasn't expecting to be free to go until about a week back. So I ignored all the offers. Now I have the Passport stamped, and it's bleeding rip off prices. They got their business model from Ryan Air, I guess?
Does this mean I'll get charged extra for carrying a bag with sandwiches AND the camera kit?

Thumper should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Not long been back home after a baking day beneath cloudless Northamptonshire skies. I just hope enough people did take advantage of the ticket offers, because there was hardly anyone there at all today.

Not surprisingly, the Chamberlain Synergy Aquila is on provisional pole after the daylight session this afternoon, four seconds clear of the Witt Gamski Ferrari 430, with Paul White's Mosler MT900R third - although the McInerney F430 looked to have second sewn up just five minutes from the end.

Class 2 pole (provisional, pending tonight's night session) fell to the ARC Bratislava Porsche 997, with the RJN Motorsport Nissan 370Z second and the Rollcentre Ginetta (shared by messers Tomlinson and Short et al) third.

Class 3 was topped by the yellow Optimum Racing Ginetta G50 by a second from the Topcats Marcos Mantis and Tom Black's Aston Martin N24 third.

The CTR Developments Lotus Elise headed Class 4 (20 seconds off pole)from the Osborne Seat Leon and the Jet Black Racing Clio.

If anyone wants to see shots of specific cars from today, just ask . . . .

Belated apologies to Dave Cox and the guys in the #77 BMW M3, who were so many streets clear in Class 4 today that I completely missed them on the results sheet:

They were on Class 4 (provisional) pole going into this evening's night-time qualifying.
