The white car that Bowe is driving, is that a brand new unit?

A B-double, or more correctly, an A-trailer added to an existing trailer, is less expensive than buying/leasing a 2nd prime mover, and securing another trailer.

888 seems to have a B-double and access to the former Briggs trailer, as they appear in places where B-doubles dont fit, like Oran Park.

I had an interesting thought over the weekend, about parts supply to the Supercar category. Most teams now use imported OZ race wheels, and I have seen this weekend that Speedline have made something of a comeback.

In recent times, Gibson Motorsport had a wheel designed and manufactured locally for their Commodore program, and had done so for the various Skyline programs before that. These were made by Castalloy if my memory serves me rightly.

As an aside, LRT bought most of the last remaining ex-GMS wheels (brand new & still in boxes) in one of the 00/GMS garage sales that happened last year.

It is interesting to note who the current owner of Castalloy, and all the engineering facilities that helped design & make those wheels for GMS in the first place.

Castalloy is now an Ion business, Ion of course being a sponsor and supporter of the BJR programs in Supercar, and traded on the ASX.

So it has me thinking, I wonder if we could see some Australian made product back under the wheelarches of the Supercars we hold near and dear. Simmons Wheels supplied product to Terry Finnigan some years ago, but for the most part these kinds of things are imported.

Perhaps unnecessarily.

To identify the scope of the opportunity, if 35 cars each bought on average of 20 wheels per season, making 700 wheels per season, this would be a $500k+ opportunity for the manufacturing company, and would show off their engineering to the world.

I am not suggesting they supply wheels for free, more that they utilise existing manufacturing capability to supply product not dissimilar to their core range, and put some local product back on the market.

Why keep people in Italy gainfully employed making these things when we could do the same thing right here!

I hate to raise this yet again, but I had to ask.

On the entry list for the Clipsal 500, BJR are listed as TBA. If the OzEmail sponsorship was all fine and dandy then why wouldn't they just enter as OzEmail Racing?? I am not suggesting anything, just wondering why you would do it.

Also, a little off topic, but how do the entry lists work. There are a few things that I don't understand why they would be listed as TBA. Such as the model for Steve Ellery's car, and the second driver for TD. This information is known, so why isn't it entered??

Not much good if you don't tighten them up, he was complaining that the car was lunging from side to side weather the throttle was pressed down or released and had a spongey pedal consistant with a loose wheel as the hat flaps around and gives the rear calipers a huge dose of pad knock off. Bowe was all for pulling in but the silence was deafening when he was trying to get some direction and so continued on,next comment was " There's spark's flying out the back of this thing"
