According to JP racing makes the circuit no profit.

It may not be a masterplan, but if he can't make a profit from racing, I don't imagine that he will keep it going for altruistic reasons.

I don't think that anyone is trying to assess the job JP is doing just yet Stephen, just reacting to a reduction in competitor benefits, whilst paying increasing entry fees.

Along with others above, I have never heard of drivers selling their allocated tickets, so why the need to reduce the number? The competitor with more than four people regularly attending will either not bring the fifth, or be forced to buy a ticket to an event which he is paying to stage.

A bit like asking you you to pay to marshal.

Entry forms still show the ticket allocation as five, I have always thought the entry fee did include the "cost" of tickets, after all the clubs hire the circuits and the drivers pay the clubs.

So if entry fees had gone up by a tenner to cover the extra ticket would we be haveing this discussion. Maybe entry fees should be reduced by £30, and just one ticket per entry, as the driver has to get in, and then any additional tickets could be purchased for any additional helpers. This way there will be no need for swapping tickets, and the competitor only pays for what he needs.

Basically if you want the ticket allocation reinstated to five, instead of four, you must lobby your club NOW. Next year could see another reduction if everyone sits back and does nothing. After all, it is unlikely entry fees will be reduced. A simple one line e-mail will do to the BARC or BRSCC.
