I doubt that they could get that win back when the team really broke the rules with too little fuel after the race and left the parc fermé too early so there was no chance for checking the car afterwards.

still...is it possible they will just be given a time penalty or something like that?

But it's odd, that only Ekström can fight it with Mercedeses, when there's guys like Biela, Kristensen and Pirro with competitive Audis. Even Aiello can't help Opel to win on its current state.

Jaxs has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
The reasons are a rather obtuse, the original ruling was leaving the car before 'Parc ferme' then the fuel ruling was applied, but if there was a leak......and yes C klasse are appealing...... ... hopefully a sensible decision will be reached.

there were several things done wrong, not enough fuel, leaving the car before parc ferme and Gary didn't go to the weighing

One could speculate in that it was due to Ekström's very early pitstop that forced Paffett to also go in. With such a long stint on the last set of tyres and fuel maybe Paffetts mechanics didn't have time to recalculate the correct ammount of fuel when he pitted hence the stop right after the finish line.
