ranoff should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Swallowed by GKN and moved to Telford some years ago. The Alvis site in Holyhead Road has been a retail park for 12 years. I expect Jaguar Browns Lane to go a similar way within the same timescale.

I'm glad to see the Jaguar brand gone, but would have liked to see Ford remain in the sport. Having to wave goodbye after 35-odd years must have been hard no matter what the financials tell you.

Indeed Manoz, Ford have probably been the greatest F1 supporter out of all the manufacturers. They remained involved constantly irrespective of how strong F1 was, how successful their cars were, and how the FoMoCo was doing as a whole. They provided affordable customer engines as well as competitive works ones, and almost every major driver over the last 40 years has driven a Ford-powered F1 car and some point. The blue oval has a huge amount of significance, sentiment and prestige in F1, even after their recent problems.

Off topic but I think that Alvis were sold to BAe Systems a few months ago.

Yes, I would imagine that it will be a few years at best, but I will be there when it does (although I'll be there even if it doesn't!).
