Until the end of 2006 hybrids are allowed. Isn't it more plausible Courage will build an full LMP1 for 2007?

New chassis, increased capacity engine.
Isn't it a 4l V8 in the A1 GP car? |

The A1 GP engine is a 3.4-litre V8 with a similar spec to the current ZG348 sportscar engine in the 04S. However, Zytek do have a 4.0-litre V8 (ZB408) which would probably be more suitable for LMP1.

On the Zytek website (here) they indeed list 2 versions of their V8 (both same size and 90 degree): * ZG 348: 3396 cc, 540 bhp @ 9500 rpm and 325 lbft @ 8,000 rpm (restricted for LMP 675) * ZB 408: 3998 cc, 700 bhp @ 10500 rpm and 390 lbft @ 8500 rpm (unrestricted) Comparison with Judd GV4: V10 (72 degree), 3997 cc * over 600 BHP @ 10250 rpm, 355 lbft @ 8500 rpm (with 48mm intake restrictor) * over 700 BHP @ 10500 rpm, 375 lbft @ 8500 rpm (no intake restrictor) |

They have a spare Lola LMP2 chassis.
One in LMP1, one in LMP2? |

Nasamax said they intend to return with an all new LMP1. That ECO prize should spur them on......

Accoring to lmsr.net Autoweek reports that Cosworth is working on a twin turbo V8 for customer LMP1 projects. Finally some alternative to the popular Judd V10s.
