I think they should be OK, for as far as I know Anglesey is not part of Mr Palmers empire

You got done in mid-Wales, not North Wales (unless there's something you're not telling me!).

I feel strongly that corner names should be earnt...

One coner on the new iceland motopark is likely to be called 'the Willi's' after a beer guided conversation with the owners (who's names you can guess now).

start off with no names at all and just see how they develop - Melbourne - that corner where brundle flipped became known as Brundle's Runway for a bit - but is now reverted to turn 7 or whatever.

Don't rush to name corners - let them get names - so each turn tells a story -like at Brands or Silverstone (Brooklands really should be renamed Gerry's)

Perhaps Mike could name the straights?

Speed Bump.
Flash Alley.
Licence Points.

Seriously, I think Sam's got the right idea. Corners develop associations, so let them do so, such as Knickerbrook, or Gracelands and Rockingham (is it still called that?)

Sooz Bend (Feisty racings team manager)
Moosey Curves (Feisty racer and HOTTRAX trackday instrucor)
Red Rise (As above)
Radka Rise (Feisty racer)
Inferno Bend (the band that played on the Saturday evening of the trackday)

As long as no-one goes for turn 1 or 2. If there is one thing that drives me mad it is TV cometators referring to corners by numbers when they have long established names. I even heard Paddock bend at Brands reffered to as turn 1 by a commentator who used to race superbikes..........sacrilege.

I can't wait till next year

Im going for the August BRSCC weekend, for the last time as the circuit is now. Great place, especially when it isn't raining, cold or windy (usually all three are comibned ). Just needs the paddock sorting out really. Sad to see it go, but if it wants BTCC and F3/GT, then it needs modernising.

Welcome back Mr Pike.
I don't really know, but a bit of guessing gives me :-
SCHOOL, I suppose because of the racing school which is based down there.
ABBOTS {also known as Beths or Barn in some circles} No idea, but I bet there was a woman called Beth somewhere along the line.
RADAR probably to do with the wartime use of the venue, as it is the highest point and probably was used for something to do with Radar.
HAIRPIN. Now that's an easy one.
DOUGLAS. Maybe he knew Beth.
MOUNTVIEW. Snowdon ain't far

I'm not sure, you are probably correct, but it doesn't matter now as there will be a whole host of new corner names to learn.

I believe that Tim Beresford, Red Cross person, sometime marshal and former editor of Northern Outpost, has the definitive explanation.

However, if I remember correctly Beth's (School) was named after someone called Beth who crashed her car there and broke both her ankles just after the circuit was opened and Douglas after Graham Douglas CMCMA chief marshal.

Radar is after the radar point and Abbots I don't know we got interrupted by an incident before he told me.
