Ian Briggs should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I can only echo the thanks of the rest to the MSV staff, marshals and management, incl mr P for a great day, I quite enjoyed the slipperyness, ish...
High points of the day were every time the falcon and Ferrari blasted past, getting the Dieseisels fuel consuption into the 20s for the first time, watching John Mac get the rally nova quite sideways round Island, with my Dad in the passenger seat.....Catching the Porshe round the corners then failing to pass on the straight..... Not putting it on the grass this year.... On an out lap Driving the Nova, gently, being blasted into the weeds by Paul Newns, still waters eh!......And I could go on.

hey all,

well to mirror the comments above a massive thank you to everyone for organising, bringing their cars down, giving hot laps, Mr Palmer and generaly making the day so much fun,

even though i did manage to get the golf out of shape at pretty much every corner in the afternoons damp conditions

there's a lot of great photo's been taken too. so thanks to the guys who took the time to post them.

can't wait till next year.

It was a fantastic day and I really enjoyed it.

I would also like to add my thanks to all concerned, Jonathan Palmer and his Oulton Park staff, Stephen Green, our fellow marshals who had to endure the rain in the afternoon, and last but not least a very big thank you to all the drivers who gave up their time to take us out for fast laps in their own cars.

(oh, and who was driving the silver volvo? Certainly had some torque on the straights, but I'll bet you didn't have much tread left on the front right tyre!)

Nah, missed my Alfa as well, but Andy Fell got a great one at Lodge. Pity there's no sound, though......you can't hear the tyres squealing!

Uummm... That would be me!
Did not want to risk much more speed on the corners in the family car, although it probably would have gone round much quicker with a real driver behind the wheel.

Just spotted that myself, Thought I was the only sad one to go round in a Volvo, till Mike (??) took his V70R round. Shame I didn't have that extra 100 horses the V70R has.

Yep it sure is. So you have your D5 Chipped too. Makes a heck of a difference especially in the torque 452lb/ft.

They just closed the track and I was next in line to go out in the V70R
, wanted to see how he managed to get the autobox to drop into 2nd or if he was just doing it in full auto mode, if he managed to get 2nd the box on the R spec may be different or the fact it can rev upto 7k rather than 4.5k on the diesel. I struggled so much I should of just stayed in 3rd and did a better line rather than cursing the box and screwing it up, to Fazza’s amusement, he was like my auto speed warning when my wife’s in the passenger seat, a little more informative than will you just slowdown.

Paul.

Sorry for the "extra" post unable to edit the previous one.

Here is a rough 1'ish lap edit, Volvo S60 - 2006 Track Day
http://www.srphotography.co.uk/motor...6-S60-1Lap.wmv

I would have liked to have taken more video and photographs, but enjoying the day on the track takes priority.

Manual, only ever owned one auto (3.0 Supra turbo) that was enough for me, however I was out yesterday off road in a £40k Discovery 3 HSE and the Auto was ok in that!

In fact, all the posted galleries are great! Good work, chaps! If I'd known you were there, I'd have waved
