I emailed the series coordinator about what the regs are and got this reply.

4.) Any model of car produced in the 70's, 80's or 90's. No cars without doors, such as Caterhams, Westfields,Ariel Atoms or Sports racers.

We expect to see TR7 V8's, Jaguar XJS's, Morgans , MR2's , MX5's etc,
So according to that and what Rushy Racer said about invitations, it looks like I wont be doing it after all.

yes yes, but is that £99 entry? Twas my point, I'm lucky enough to span three decades to race where it's cheapest. A race tart!

As far a list of eligible cars all the CSCC Series are just that, "Series by invitation" so we can always so No ! as well as yes when asked if a car is eligible.
Fair enough but what about GTs? You've mentioned sportscars so far other than the XJS which was homologated as a touring car.

Would a 3litre Turbo fit or are they banned from all series not just Tin Tops?

The Lister was racing. It's the Libre race at the PMC meeting at Silverstone in about 1985/86. In those days anything could race.

For "open"regs, there's some massive holes:

silhoutte as near as possible... - so it doesn't have to be standard - or anywhere near standard...

Caterham 21 have doors - but are banned? And as I've said Caterham 7s have doors of sorts.

Why are Sevens so feared - in the likes of the Eight Clubs I'm usually tussling quite happily with MGAs, TR6s and the like - the old "too fast to race"??

Well with the Morgans allowed in I'd suspect anyone runing anything else will be playing second fiddle. There's not much in the way of production GT or Sportscars that can stick with a plus eight! Which was my reason for asking about the turbos.

Peter,
The best thing you can do is come and talk to one of us at Brands ( Race Admin) over this weekend and tell us what you want to race and we can then let you know if it is eligible

When I saw "Future Classics" I started to get the shakes.

A brand new car could be considered a "Future Classics", after all, there are people who call Austin Allaggro's "Classics", so it means in translation, any car which may at some stage in it's life be considered old.

As for Formula Libre being single seaters - well no, it didn't used to be. Gerry Marshall, or should I say DTV, entered Baby Bertha in Libre events.
These days the MSA won't let single seaters (open wheels) and sports/saloons share the track.

A shame that the regs of this series excludes the "Locaterfield" type cars. Surely a limit on either engine capacity, tyre size, or weight, would have been better than saying plain "NO"?

Richard Wos tells me that the entry fee is only for this year... plus club and championship registration (another £80) - next year the prices will be the same as the swinging sixties / tin tops.
