Agree - it would be great if we had that.

I doubt though that it will be any more than 2-3 truly competitive teams at the front, with the odd high point result from others, if history is any guide but that is a vast improvement over the one-sided Mercedes playing field that has only partially been levelled this year.

Make no mistake, Mercedes is a very good team and all of them have worked very hard to be at the pinnacle and stay there but they WERE given an inadvertent free kick by the governing body with the engine freeze at the start of the hybrid era, that put them a long way out in front of the others and certainly built them a virtually unassailable foundation.

We've seen dominant periods from this team or that before now but it really is time for this one to end.

I would have agreed until #masigate. Now I’m hoping for Hamilton to win 20 races with Russell second and Russell to win 3 races with Hamilton second.

History shows that it is normal for one team to be much better than others in the first year of any new formula.
It’s anyone’s guess who that will be but it’s usually a single original design concept that wins the battle then others catch up.

Merc do however come with a stonking engine and gearbox which is likely to make up for a lot of short comings or provide complete dominance - again.

But seriously I wonder why anyone would want 23 one team domination races.It would do nothing to change any wrong you perceive from the past.Max would still be 2021 World Champion.All it would do is give us a year of boring Grand Prix where you know the winner before P1 starts and cause massive commercial damage to the sport.

As stated above, most likely one team will dominate as they will find something that makes them significantly faster before the others can catch up. Hopefully its Merc as they will have 2 drivers who can be fast and will make it interesting. There was a big difference in speed between sergio and max during most of the season, so hopefully not them.

Would that make it interesting though if Lewis and George run away and hide in races? An interesting battle between teammates perhaps, but what we really need is to have Ferrari, McLaren and perhaps one other team right on the money from the outset. That would make it interesting.....

On the back of news that Ferrari will unveil their car before winter testing. Again not unusual, but the announcement to unveil is itself early?

Not surprising as the 2022s were pushed back a year so teams have had more time to develop but still encouraging to see the teams pushing hard already! Speaks to what could be a very intense season ahead!

I would bet every iteration has been fired up on the Mercedes Benz HPE supercomputer a fair few times before one ounce of swarf was generated..

There are probably a fair few engineers in customer teams sweating on the size/packaging/workability/performance to become known to truly finalise the installation into their package too..

There was a hyped up nationalism this year in F1 that seemed very pronounced.It permeated the crowds,a lot of the Sky commentators and even Internet forums.More than I’ve ever noticed before although it has always been there.It seemed to be a subtext in everything from Max v Lewis to someone choosing Ricciardo as driver of the race no matter how dire his performance was.
The only team this really applies to is Ferrari.
