A quick word for WTR - I'm not sure how the race could have been worse for them, short of a retirement. When they stopped early I thought they were going to even it out three stints. Whatever made them switch to matching the strategy of the leading duo after their earlier stop cost them the championship lead.

Wonder how many are sharing private planes? Least drivers fit in commercial planes well unlike some of us ogres.

#31 Action Express Caddy sent to the back of its class after failing post-race tech (under the minimum weight).

Too bad they didn't say how much the car was underweight.

Yeah it's a mystery why they aren't saying how much it is underweight. What are they trying to hide?

Wasn't a GTD car underweight in Mid Ohio, the McLaren I want to say? They never said b how much in that case either, but it still got dropped to the bottom of its class.
I think this is just how IMSA operate; if you fall foul of the post-race check, that's it. By how much isn't really what they're bothered about, there isn't a sliding scale of sanctions for technical infringements. I suspect the teams involved favour this approach, for obvious reasons. |

Yeah even the official penalty notice (which you can find on IMSA Alkamel) doesn't specify.

What is the rule. They ground to a halt, I presume out of fuel at the end. Is it gross weight or dry weight?

Yeah, IMSA just lists the violation, I've never seen them list how much underweight. It would be interesting to know but not what they do. It's not hiding anything, it's just not policy. I would be more interested in how much relative the minimum and if parts were to blame over missing weight

I honestly don't know the answer to that, but I would like to mention that the race was run caution free! Just like we would have expected with the street course!

According to S365--
"***Derani revealed that the Cadillac, which received a 15 kg minimum weight increase prior to the weekend in the latest round of Balance of Performance adjustments, was 2 kg underweight in post-race technical inspection." |

2 kg is quite a significant mistake by the team IMO. I expected the difference to be smaller.

Unless it was something unforeseen, that's quite a big mistake by the team. I agree that if it only been a little bit we could have understood more.

Does anyone know when IMSA releases the entry list for upcoming races? I thought the 6h of the glen entry would be out by now.

Is there a rule saying a team has to run all 3 drivers if 3 are listed on the entry list? Or can the team decide to run just 2 of the 3? If so, I would let Derani and Conway do the bulk if not all of the running and leave Pla out. |

Unless the team requests a driver line-up change, it's not possible:

Not proposing a (last minute) driver change, just posting the question whether teams are allowed to use only 2 of their 3 listed drivers. Since it's a Pro class and (assumingly) driving times don't matter, why can't a team elect to 'bench' one of their listed drivers if it feels it brings an advantage to them? I'm just curious, not truly expecting any team to do so if allowed. United announced they're skipping this race because their pay driver is having delayed back surgery. Petit is iffy also. |
