Laurent Chauveau of E-I identified this tiny fin-shaped element on the new TS030:


I guess this is just a profiled antenna element. What else could this be ? Too small for a rear-view camera IMHO.

The new headlight clusters sure look darn ugly.Hope they stick with the old ones,car looks much better with those.Why are all proto manufactures nowadays designing headlight clusters which are totally out off alignment with the fender shape.Better beam dispersion or whatever?

Yeah, what fools, designing cars for performance instead of esthetics ...

So long as there are two Toyotas on the grid, they can paint them brown and paint "Turd" on the side in yellow letters. I am a Race fan. Wave the green flag and let's go.

Personally, I am a fan of the blue/white livery.

Those headlights look close to the one's they tested on the red roll-out car last year. We saw how they changed. I think they're just trying a brighter light. They won't keep the light cluster the way it looks now.

You're wrong. The fender shape didn't change here- http://www.mulsannescorner.com/newsjan13.html





Like on Mr. Fuller's site, you can see the the fender is the same and the whole headlight assembly is just a piece of the bodywork that can be changed.

I believe Pandamasque was referring to the fact that the front fender shape was changed when Toyota switched from the original headlights seen on the 2012 launch car to the ones they ultimately raced in 2012.

This being said, I suspect the headlight clusters are just there to allow Toyota to do comparative tests between the two solutions. Unless both solutions have their respective advantages (weight vs. illumination efficiency), we could expect Toyota to revert back to a fully-integrated solution by the time the season starts.

Well, they are the same as the 2013 car. The only thing is instead of a little light cluster, they have a big light cluster. It's the same shape as the fender. If they can change a whole front end from the 2012 roll-out car to what we saw that raced at LM and the WEC, they can definitely change the lights on this year's car. I think they will.
