I imagine the success has suddenly made Tafel a championship contender, and he'd rather have that than a Le Mans podium.

Apparently their efforts to raise funding for LM have come completely to naught, but they have very good backing from Bell Micro in the ALMS and after the St Pete success, their backers are eager to see them continue to make the best use of their investment. Seems reasonable to me.

It still is surprising that Tafel didnt at least outsource their entry. However, I do agree that this is a negative that we have a 4th Pescarolo, it was very slow at Barcelona and I feel the 2nd Creation wouldve been a better reserve, or even the Lambo in GT1.

The big question is now where are the Tafel drivers going to end up. Three very good drivers (Farnbacher, Simonsen and Muller) available and seeing where they end up and who will miss out will be interesting...

At least with another Pescarolo there will be another finisher, Creations aren't always the most reliable of cars now are they????
Personally I'd rather see a like for like replacement, i.e. have (say) 2 reserves for each class, or have 4 LMP reserves and 4 GT reserves, and use them first, then swap over to the current style of list if class/type reserves are used up. |

one more to go for the second Lambo... Maybe Saulnier won't take up the place? At least the ACO had the good sense not to put any other Russian cars further down the list...

The fact that Tafel cannot raise the money is significant and shows that the profile of all classes is important to the overall health of the sport. |

WTF, Saulnier??? I am sure Audi and Peugeot are shaking with fear by now... After witnessing last year´s "incredible" second place finish by you know who, I guess anything is credible in the ACO universe. |

What you tryin' to say Lus? The ACO favour french teams? Surely not! Who would dare suggest such a thing, everyone knows Peugeot got that place by pure (Ahem) race tactics and skill!

Faggionato and Hein are first-timers at Le Mans aren't they- what's their background? I have to confess I don't think I'd heard of either before they lined up in the Saulnier car |

Exactly. Of course I appreciate the role GTs have played - but it will never change the fact that I much prefer watching prototypes than GTs and if Le Mans could have a grid of 55 protos, that would suit me. Mind you, if some of them were Deboras, I could probably be converted...... |

For me, that's the most sensible and logical suggestion and I've never understood really why it hasn't been applied by the ACO. Anyway, I promise not to wind up the GT fans any more with my unpopular preferences...... |

My guess for first pullout would have been the Racing Box Luchinni . Disapointed to see Tafel doing the pulling out , the car has a great livery and would have been one of the better GT2 cars ..... plus top drivers too .

Only three on the reserve list now according to the LM website. The Lambo,
Creation, Larbre and Spyker out. Second Epsilon and two porsches (IMSA and F-Proton) remain. |
