The Audi "kids" car gets pole after the Porsche drivers win last year. Audi sure is getting alot of milage out of the "loaner" drivers, the old guys (#3) better pick it up. Saturday should be a good one, hope the weather holds out - see you guys then...

Not really a huge surprise, although I guess the #2 grabbing top honors is a bit of a surprise. Then again, the drivers of that car surprised everyone (except for the Japanese fans perhaps) with their pace last year in the race.

5 tenths separate the top 6
Raceday will be fun Was it the Robertson GT that ruined Kristensen's fastest lap? |

Also, amazing to see how far the 8/2 group has come since last year, especially Lotterer. All 3 drivers put in very good laps, and havent put a foot wrong all week. I think we are in for a classic, especially in LMP1 and GTE Pro, but the LMP2 battle is starting to look pretty interesting as well.

That was a shame, Kristensen was on pole pace.
If this were F1 a fine and starting position penalty would be headed their way. The car was clearly off pace even for a GT car |

Im not so much talking about outright pace, just watch a replay of last years Petit Le Mans to know what Im talking about regarding the 2/8 drivers.

It's interesting that Audi is letting the #1 and #2 teams score ILMC points for the team and not the #3. Obviously, they trust those guys. |

By the way, have the Aston drivers even managed to complete their mandatory laps? With just 70 minutes to go, word was that only Klien had his laps done.

Andre Lotterer has been an endurance racing star. He is very familiar with endurance style racing. He has been Champion in the Japanese SuperGT series with the Toms team. Benoit TReluyer picked up the overall win in the First Super GT race of 2011 as well. these guys arent slouches. Alot of people are just less familiar with them. |

That Aston Martin is a disgrace. Before you anyone tries to goive me "the speech". The ACO should tell them to pack yp and o home because as far as i'm concerned they are a Hazard to the GTE PRO field.
they have shown no promising performance and were out done by the Kronos Lola Aston Martin. Did anyone see that car on track. All it ever did was crawl down the mulsanne getting passed by P2 and GTE. |

Wow, that is pathetic, I surely hope they don't ask for a handout performance gain. Why they ever gave up on the Lola coupe I will never know. They went from arguably the best looking car, to the worst. The best Non-Diesel, to the worst P1, getting beaten out by P2 cars, GT cars have higher top speeds etc. just sad. This is not the Aston Martin they should be.

No way - that would be an even bigger loss of face. It is sad, but, as has been said many times, they've been either brave or foolish to come here and do their development under the public glare. Yes, we could have had two other competitive entries, but we have what we have. I just want to see them last as long as possible.
