Otherwise, good work. |

R2J2G - Brilliant as always! ASH - very good for a first-time livery.
I though't i'd finish off the 2008 SBR Lineup, following on from the Van Gisbergen Car last week, here is the #4: Car 4, Jeld-Wen Motorsport Stone Brothers Racing BF Falcon, Driver: James Courtney The split livery meant i decided to do both sides - thanks to R2J2G for pointing me in the direction of his brilliant updated template. I use Photoshop 7.0 for my liveries. When i do the 'reflection' of ther car, here is what I do:
1. I do the reflection last - after i have done the livery. 2. I save the design under a different file name, so if i screw-up the reflection, I still have the basic completed car. 3. I then merge all the layers of the livery together, so that it is one layer of a car with a paintjob (like a jpeg or other single-layered image). 4. Expand the size of the canvas/image to provide room for the reflection under the car (i normally start by just doubling the height of the image, and then cropping it down when I'm done). 5. Duplicate the layer of the car, then flip the duplicated layer over, and place it in the space you have created under the car. (manouver it as you need it so it looks good). 6. I then use a gradient fill from white-transparent over the 'flipped' layer of the car to give the effect of the reflection fading out (or black-tranparent for a black background) 7. Crop down the height of the image to remove any excess space below where the relfection finishes (I then put the M-Kart Design logo above the car at this point) 8. Save, upload & post! That at least is how i do it, no doubt there are other methods, and it may be different for the program you use. I know other people have other 'effects' they add to it - Pro Racer for example gives an effect of bright spotlights aimed down on the car, and this changes the reflection too. I hope this helps. |
