Don't know much about Doornbos or how well he will do with the double commitment, but I'm really glad Clarke will be back with Minardi. He showed some real speed last year.

Apparently he will be running Nascar Canadian Tire series, one of the last paragraphs says he had "no choice but to to turn his back on Champcar in order to get a firm ride", if my French is as good as I think it is. Since he had P&G/ WalMart Canada sponsorship I wonder if Tags may be running with this, and thats why he will be there. We'll know tommorow morning I guess. |

Forsythe announces it's 2nd driver tomorrow at noon.
Minardi may grow to 3 cars at some point this season. |

What's bad for Ranger is good for Tag. PG is involved in Lexington, so I suspect that little if any money is coming from them. I think RSports is going to be a serious contender this year.
Ranger is still young so there is hopefully lots of time for him to find a good direction in the future. |

Turned off or realistic? Depends on your perspective.

I am liking the liveries so far. Rahals car looks good maybe because it wasn't red which has been the in thing lately. Tags car also looks really good, the black and red come up good.

Matt Halliday has signed with Konrad Motorsports and will drive in the "Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup" in 07, starting with a double-round in Bahrain on 15th April... the cup runs eleven rounds as a supporting event of the FIA Formula One Championship... so one week before the start in Vegas who will drive the Conquest machine?

Conquest has a "sponsor." Given that his staff was out the door and in the parking lot when "the call" came in, I suspect there was some brinksmanship with the series owners. Furthermore, I suspect that KK will have some impact on the decision. Philippe seems to have resigned himself to elsewhere, whereas Junquiera, Legge, Servia seem to pinning their hopes on CC. I suspect that we'll see some or all of them in the remaining three seats. Of course that depends if DCR has found some pay drivers.

It's my understanding that Legge had a two-year deal with KK to run CC. Coyne will probably get a free driver and/or paid by KK to run her. I'm not convinced yet that Conquest will show. If it had a sponsor, it's taken a long time to let the folks know, so I imagine that's a bit of help from KK, too, if it happens. Coyne's second car and driver are gonna get paid for by somebody, IMO. I agree on Phillippe. He's gone.

Reports in Europe say that also Jan Heylen and Andreas Wirth are working on landing a last minute seat... (Wirth tested with DCR in Houston)... so I guess: Wirth and Legge > DCR, Heylen > Conquest ... and maybe PKV gives us a surprise with Servia in a third car... added with the 14 confirmed drivers finally we get the magic number = 18

^ That's interesting. I'm quiet curious as to how Conquest pulled that off.
What are people's impressions of Haliday? I didn't follow Indylights (eg. back in 2001) Bachelart seems plenty convinced of him and therefore he appears to be a talent choice and not someone selected for monitary considerations. How has he been in other series since indylights? |
