That test track somebody did got me to finally posting my own little test track. The two centerpieces are a 2.911-mile road course and a 3.066-mile high-speed track with two 6,800-foot-long straights and 30 degree banked turns. There are several extended racing and testing circuits that utilize the two circuits. The road course is in orange; the high-speed track is in pink.

I assume that the track runs clockwise? In that case turn 1 would be a real test and neck strainer for the drivers, the way it should be. Turn 4b, or five, however you look at it, "basically the long sweeper leading to a hairpin" could use some run off room. Other then that I think that the road coarse is vrey well done indeed!

Okay, I made two minor changes. I slightly reconfigured the track after the Turn 6 hairpin, and relocated where the "Enduro" circuit (seen in lime green) goes under the test track.

It's good, but it is a test track, and that means no racing, which means boring...If that on the other hand were a proper race track, i would have to love it.

Hey, I'm not saying nobody can race on it, but its primary use would be for testing.

OK, I get it. I see your point, too, but those difficult parts should be fun to drive on/watch.

Thanks. And I'm sure you'll see some more coming. I've been working on a track for the 'country side' somebody (you?) posted a couple of pages back. It's gonna be quite long.

Hey guys, be careful where you post... I just got a bit of a talking-to from professional track designer Alan Wilson on another board.

After reading that little reply, I have to agree with Wilson's argument. He isn't out to make the new Nurburgring; he's just trying to give the weekend road warrior a good place to race nearby. He's building for the club racers and racing schools of America, and these people don't exactly possess the driving talents of a Formula 1 champion. And, he is usually working on a modest budget. I'll leave him be from now on. Tilke, however, still has no excuse, since he is trying to build the new Nurburgring, specifically for Formula 1, and usually money is no issue with him.

Glad that was not me..... It would be intersting to see what Mr. Wilson had to say about the tracks here? I try to make my tracks as realistic as posible, yet he would find a thousand reasons why mine is wrong! I think he put many of us in our place.

The one with the lake. He called it a fish pond or something. It also has the elevation changes and a one-mile horse race track in it.

Yes, that's Fish_Flake's.

Lee, yes, we reallt have been put in our places... Interesting though isn't it. You would have thought that with 150'000'000 Tilke could do something a little better though?

Here's a little update to Magny Cours, I've made it a bit more of a 'sweeping' track. I think it's an improvement anyway...

I like it

F1 cars would probably be doing a gazillion miles an hour before they get to the hairpin, how flat out are they normally through the first turn?

Hey guys, I had an idea this morning. Why not build a (simple) website to display our own tracks at? Something like fantasycircuits.com or whatever? We could post 'normal' size pics and large scale images there as well as track and corner descriptions.

Lets all vote a track for each other that we should enter!
So i say that Fish should send his first track, the one where he had smoothed off some corners if you remember.
Lee should do his one a few pages back in Miami i think it was, and DNQ, i supose you have something? I haven't seen anything but the Magny-Cours one. bcobbus, the first one you did, that motorcycle layout, the massive one. And Lustigson, the second of the two above, and Mac, i haven't seen enough of them to say.
