I just had a peek at the official entrylist over at the Super GT site and it say that a Team Nova will be entering the DBR9 known as 'ASTON MARTIN AKASAKA DBR9' and driven by Akihiro Tsuzuki and Takeshi Tsuchiya.
I'm quite interested if the car will be modified to the extent that the Jim Gainer 360 and the Hitosuyama 550 Maranello were altered. |

Its a season entry but didnt appear at the test days so we'll have to wait until the first race to see how it compares to the more radical Japanese cars in the class.

Thanks for the pics of the Ferraris Japanese Samurai. I'm quite interested in how European cars go in the Super GT series. I'm liking the BMW Z4 entry with the V8 engine with 690(?) personal sponsors.

I don't know the chasis number.
They will not remodel agreement to GT500 regulations. They will participate in Asian Le mans series. 2009 regulation of GT500 is here. 1)Full carbon monocoque is admitted. 2)Only an FR layout is admitted. 3)Height and the wheelbase of the car are commonized. 4)The engine is 3.4 liters V8(It is commonized with an engine of formula Nippon.). However, it was only Toyota to have prepared an adapted vehicle for 2009 regulations. Nissan was not able to prepare 09 engines for lack of budget. Honda was not able to prepare the FR car because the development of next model of NSX was canceled. Therefore performance adjustment will be performed between 3 makers. Lexus SC430(Carbon monocoque, 3.4l V8 engine) Restrictor size 29.1mm Weight 1100kg Nissan GT-R(Carbon monocoque, 4.5l V8 engine) Restrictor size 28.3mm Weight 1130kg Honda NSX(MR layout, short wheelbase, 3.4l V6 engine) Restrictor size 28.8mm Weight 1120kg |

Thanks again for the pics and info Japanese Samurai!! So if they will not redo the car to GT500 car then it will be definitely off the pace of the leaders. Well we will see a DBR9 in action in the Asian Le Mans Series!! Great to hear.

Not 3 Murcielago.
Correct is 1 Murcielago and 2 Gallardo. JLOC Gallardo is remodeling of the GT3 specification to the S-GT specification. |

And that goes back to my earlier suggestion that Super GT should just dump the GT500 supercar regs and go with full LM prototypes for the main category - and then we have an "Asian Le Mans Series" without any hassles.

It would be logical if they were to adopt world standard rules regardless, maybe phasing out the old cars by getting them to run in the most appropriate class. Although, perhaps the world standard rules should allow things like 4WD ...
